It’s okay and cheap

The Travelodge is right next to one of the busiest roads in Santa Fe, at night you can hear the traffic. The room was clean, it just looked very old-fashioned: ugly bedspread, hideous furniture etc. The service was good, nice local soap and shampoo were provided everyday and the waffles for breakfast were pretty good.

The museum of International Folk Art , up on the hill has a great collection. If you are going to see one museum in Santa Fe, let this be it!

Hard to work with.

Booked two nights. Realized we only needed the one night at check-in. Cancelled 2nd night at check-in. Checked out at FD to find out we were not cancelled for the 2nd night. Cancelled again with the DC & got it in writing. They still charged us the 2nd night, saying we never checked out and said we stayed the 2nd night. Total harrasment. Spoke w/Mgr. who said he would credit us after all since we have it in writing. Waiting on CC bill to see the credit. We do not recommend.

Not Bad

I stayed here for 6 days during a work seminar and it wasn’t bad at all. The breakfast is pretty weak, location is great, rooms are nice. If your on a budget it’s not bad at all.

Good location for the price

This is a completely reasonable place to stay if you don’t require "posh" surroundings for your sleeping purpose. It is an easy 10-15 minute walk to the plaza where all the action happens. Good deal.

I made a bad choice

The "heated" outdoor pool would have required a wetsuit, hence I won’t be going back

Simple Room within Walking Distance of The Plaza

Simple, no frills hotel room. Safe 10 - 15 minute walk back to from the plaza. Didn’t have breakfast there as there are many other places in Santa Fe for this.

Poor parking situation, erratic basic services

If you come back after 8PM you will likely not find a parking space! In four nights all spots were take by 8PM and people had to park in other businesses’ lots, not enough parking spaces for number of rooms! Ice machine broken for 4 days, no hot water one of the days at 11AM, erratic slow internet. Nice, clean, attactive room and cheap (for Santa Fe) for such close-in accomodations. If you plan to be back before 8 and can bring your own ice, don’t need reliable internet, and can do without hot water it’s a good bargain.

Okay for a night’s sleep

The bed was rather uncomfortable and the service wasn’t great, but it was clean and quiet, which is what we were looking for after a long day on the road.

Perfect for a short stay

Very helpful staff, great location, fine rooms. No problems or complaints whatsoever. It was perfect for a short vacation exploring Santa Fe.

Nice place to stay

The Travelodge in Santa Fe has been refurbished and is both clean and comfortable. The location is convenient and within walking distance to Old Town and most tourist spots. The parking lot is very tight and especially difficult for a small travel van.

Bang for the buck

The Santa Fe Travelodge is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the action--bars, the Plaza, etc at the most reasonable price in town. The rooms are comfortable and basic--it’s a one star place. Santa Fe has a myriad of options for those with big budgets seeking luxury. For everybody else, the Travelodge is just fine.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Head down to the Cowgirl for some good grub & microbrews and then over to Corazon if you like to dance.

Close to downtown

The hotel is close to downtown, maybe 6 to 8 blocks so wear comfortable shoes when you come. The motel is not the classiest but it serves as a close place to downtown to sleep and clean up. One has access to many of the other close in Santa Fe attractions.

Great for the price

The front desk was really helpful. Waffles were excellent, coffee hot. Nothing fancy but the rooms were clean, beds good. Outside stairs somewhat worn, but rooms appeared to have been renovated recently. We just wanted an affordable, clean place to sleep between sightseeing and shopping and that’s what we found! We asked for a room away from traffic noise and got it. I plan to stay there again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

A brisk but manageable walk to the plaza. Lots of stuff to look at. Check out the five and dime and go to Cowgirl for an interesting eating experience! Loretto Chapel is a must to see. Check out the Taos Pueblo on your way north, too.

Good value for the price

This is a very decent hotel for the price! I’ve read so many people complain but this is a clean, comfortable and safe place to stay while you are exploring Santa Fe (and its environs). Will definitely stay here again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Be sure to check out Teahouse on Canyon Road, a bright and airy spot to sip delicious chai and hang with the locals. Also recommend hiking the Dale Ball Trails at the end of Upper Canyon Road -- a very pretty hike. Near the Travelodge on Guadalupe Rd check out Tomasita’s restaurant for their delicious daily specials. And the highlight: The Santa Fe Farmer’s Market also around the corner from Travelodge on Guadalupe St -- held every Saturday from 7am to 12 noon.

Terrific Value

Not the Taj Mahal, but very close to historic downtown Santa Fe and very reasonably priced. Room had a refrigerator, large safe, free wireless internet and free breakfast (including waffles you make yourself). Spaces in the parking lot were rather tight. Maid service considerate. A short drive south of the hotel was a Whole Foods and a McDonald’s with late hours.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The rooms with two queen size beds are larger than the rooms with two full size beds, making for a more comfortable stay.

Not impressed

This is s shop worn Travelodge. Not worth the price by any measure. The parking was not adequate. Hotel is close to a very busy road with lots of road noise.

great location

Free parking and free wireless -- can’t beat that and still be close to the Guadalupe action in Santa Fe. A lamp in the room was broken and the hotel is in between a gas station and brake shop, but you don’t go to Santa Fe to sit in your hotel room. Place was quiet and clean.

Good for the price

The price for this hotel combined with the location to downtown made it a good place to stay. The only complaint we had was the dirtiness of the carpet. The rest of the room and the bathroom were very clean, but we had to wash our feet after walking around and before getting into bed because the carpet was so dirty.

Cramped and Poorly Maintained

The room was far too small for the amount of furniture in it, and poorly arranged. There was barely room to walk between the two beds, or between the foot of the beds and the dresser and mini fridge. The clothes rack had been placed outside the bathroom door, and you either had to walk under the clothes rack or climb over the bed to enter the bathroom, making the rack essentially useless for clothes. The bathroom had been recently and amaturishly remodeled using mismatched materials, with the stickers still on the tub and toilet. Water pressure was poor, and hot water seriously lacking. There were only two small inadequate towels in the bath. The air conditioning unit was not working, and we came back from our day to a stifling hot room, and had some trouble convincing the manager this was a problem. Eventually, we had to wait outside while the air conditioning unit was changed out, which made our night of sleep seriously delayed while the work was done and the room cooled off.

Location and price were pretty good.

This hotel was in walking distance of the plaza and that was good as parking looked like it could be tough. The room was OK, but the steps getting up to our room were very worn and almost not safe. In the morning the attitude of the person in the office taking care of the free breakfast was not helpful at all. He really didn’t care what problems were occurring with the waffle maker etc. Just ignored it all.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

This is an OK place if you don’t want to spend lots of money and that is easy to do in Santa Fe. I guess you could say a good value for the money.

Great location, Great value

It was in a perfect location for shopping & the opera. Will definately stay there again. It was extremely clean. It looked like it had been updated fairly recently.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Santa Fe Opera is the best.

Excellent Place to Stay

We stayed four nights in a comfortable king size bed. Enjoyed making our own waffles along with fresh juice, coffee and English muffins. The location is closer to the downtown area than most motels on Cerillos but the room rate did not break our budget. Recommend considering this location for your next trip to Santa Fe.

no hot water

ALL of the rooms were without hot water overnight. And there was no response from the front desk about when hot water would be available. The stairs to the upper level were very rusty with several patches at the top, making the stairs seem unsafe.
