Good value and good location
Good hotel -- great price. Convenient for me since I had meetings with colleagues and a lecture at a couple of Beijings universities.

Never go back
Reception service is bad, and bathroom is not clean enough. Elevators are too small and when I checked out in the morning, I took 8-10 minutes to get a elevator to the lobby.

Courtyard Marriott Beijing- Good enough
This hotel was lacking in customer service from the moment we arrived. I did not receive assistance in getting our numerous bags into the hotel, and I used the cart that the bellhop had on my own. The room was decent and small, but it was admittedly good enough. We used the pool and he were stared at and monitored very closely there with swim cap requirements that were annoying. My 5 year old son had a swim shirt that had to be explained to the pool monitor, and the swim was less enjoyable despite the very nice pool. The pool was ran by a separate spa, so they would not let us take the towels to the room although my son needed one. So, I took it anyway and brought it back. It was like I was trying to steal something. The lobby was always smokey and on our last day at checkout we brought some KFC food to the lobby to eat before we embarked, since our luggage was there. They attempted to have us not eat, until I purchased a coke from the bar- which was not present but back behind some doors. The managers, a man and a woman, stared at us while we ate and the woman made negative comments the whole time. The hotel customer service was annoying, but the hotel room did serve our purpose. The concierge did a good job in answering our questions, and despite problems I did tip them all for some reason.
This hotel did not seem kid friendly and the lobby was very smokey. There is a pizza hut and KFC just on the other side of the hotel/mall building. The mall connected to the hotel makes shopping convenient. It is also a long walk to Wanfuging street take a cab if you are toting children. Our son is a little trooper but it was a hike due to the street underpasses and climbing of stairs required.
