My sister held her wedding there & it was fantastic! The staff was amazing & the food was awesome. We all had such an incredible experience there! Definitely would go again to this one or one of their other resorts!

Great for honeymooners

The ride there from the airport was interesting. Long and bumpy but you see the area. The hotel’s nice. Older than some of the other resorts. The beach is nice but wear water shoes in the ocean. There’s coral everywhere and you can’t see it because the sand gets kicked up in the surf. The beach is public so if there are peddlars don’t buy from them because you won’t be allowed to take the items on the plane. The food was good at the World Cafe but you can get sick of it by the end of a week’s stay. The staff was excellent. Not much english so learn a little spanish if you can. The pool is nice but only 4ft deep. Make sure you get up at 6am and go down and put towels on seats you want for the day because they fill up quickly. The floats disappear fast so if you buy cheap ones and bring your own. If you want to go to one of the restaurants call concierge and ask which restaurants are open because sometimes some are closed. Get there right when they open because they fill up fast! The Seaside Grill was really good. Best lamb ever. I noticed meats are cooked very well done here. So if you’re used to medium-rare it’ll be a surprise. The room was nice but the bed is very hard. The shower’s water temperature goes hot to cold alot. There will always be sugar ants in places so if you have champagne or cocktails and you finish your drinks in the room make sure you wash the glass out because they’ll come running. You don’t see alot of them until they find something sweet.

Have your passport out the whole time you’re at the airport going there and back. We had to show it to so many different people so I just kept it in my had with my license. Also keep a paper copy of your itinerary out when leaving Punta Cana and you’re in the airport. Our information changed while we were sitting right in front of the screen where we were supposed to load and no one said anything to us and if you aren’t on top of it you can miss your flight without knowing it.

6 days 5 nights

The food was on average fair. The Mexican Restaurant was the best place to eat, we had a great steak there. The other specialty restaurants were only open select evenings and since you could NOT make reservations the wait was often over two hours. Breakfast at the buffet was good, lots of choices but the service was spotty. Some mornings it was very attentive other mornings it was impossible to get a second cup of coffee. The rooms were what I expected for the price; clean but not luxurious. Our room could have used a new mattress. The swim-up bar made good drinks but was always busy. The Walk-up bar on the other side was slow, surly and inconsistent.

For our Honeymoon

The resort is about an hour drive from the airport, but that’s perfect since you get to see the culture and life of the island. Dreams resort was absolutely beautiful. Our honeymoon suite was nothing too exciting but still very nice! The jucuzzi on the balcony was really nice! All the food, servers, and bartenders were AWESOME. Everyone was so polite and helpful. The resort had activities all day, everyday! We actually stayed at the resort all week, except for one excursion. We absolutely loved Dreams and can’t wait to go back or visit another Dreams resort!

Dominican Cigars from the Dreams shop were VERY good! I don’t smoke but wanted to try one out and they were a lot of fun! Also, do at least one excursion.. We did the stingray /shark excusion with snorkeling off a reef... what a blast!

Honeymoon Bliss

Our stay at Dreams was awesome. We walked in and were handed a glass of champange! There is plenty of activitiess to do throughout the whole day if youd like but if not you can do your own thing as well! Resort was very clean at all times they even scrub the sidewalks with mops! Food was delicious did upset my belly a little bit but nothing tums or pepto cant handle Staff is always very friendly and willing to help out with whatever you need. Most speak english as well which is nice

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Bring US 1 dollars with you to them that means alot that one dollar is more then probally what they make in a day. You can really make somebodys day the best when you give it to them you can just see the expresion on their face its great and also a fullfilling feeling

Dream of a resort: Rooms not so much!

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 29th anniversary! The resort itself is very clean and wonderfully maintained. However, upon our check-in we were very disappointed with our room! I had reserved a Honeymoon Suite assuming it would be very nice and comfortable. To our suprise the room would not cool and the maintenence man tried to convince us it was ok simply because the fan was blowing! Upon closer inspection we found mold on the furniture and the bottom of the lamp shades. When I went to the front desk to request another room, I was told this was a tropical climate and that was what we should expect. Ay this point I pulled out my camera and showed them the pictures of the mold. I was told to give them 10-15 minutes and they would see what they could do. After about an hour a gentleman showed up at our room to show us another. It was in the same building and even worse! I asked if they had another room they could show us. He made a call and finally showed us a room in building 6 (preferred club building). No mold! Room was cool and clean! With this said the rest of our trip was wonderful. But if the resort can maintain this room properly, then they should be able to maintain the others as well. I would return here, but be very firm about not staying in a room with mold.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

As stated above, don’t settle! Be courteous and even tell them you’ll take a downgraded room to stay in a room without mold. But don’t be afraid to take pictures and present your case.

Amazing - I wouldn’t go back to any other resort!

We booked early, and got an amazing room on the 3rd floor facing the ocean. The staff was top of the line. Always friendly and was great at engaging the guests into activities. Take lots and lots of $1.00 bills, because you will want to tip them. The ride from the airport to the resort is an hour - but very interesting. Be sure to purchase the Expedia hotel transfer voucher. We didn’t and paid a high price. Everyone should stay here! The beach is fantastic!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Be sure to check out the spa. My husband and I got a couples massage, and that place is so peaceful.

Dreams the place to be in Punta Cana

I went to Dreams on Agoust 27th with my family it was everything we spected, the staff are the best of all, food great, well done and beutifull decorated. lot of activities for the kids, the hotel pool is so relaxing and comfortable you can enjoy it from almost everywhere. I’ll definitly go back with my friends and rest of my family. Its really a Dream come true. I regreat not having done the photo shut in a such beutifull ambience.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you have a family with small kids, its better to be in a ground floor room with a pool view. If its you firt time in the caribbean take the photo shut that is offered by the hotel

Can’t wait to go back

Everything was awsome, the restaurants, food, service, etc. They try to please you any way they can, whatever you need. The pool and pool bar were great with pleanty of room for everybody. The hotel keeps you busy everyday with activities or you just can relax by the pool or beach. There’s a reef you can snorkle right behined the hotel and along the coast. There’s a few local gift shops about 5 minutes walking from the hotel. The cheapest one we found after going back and forth on the price was Alexander’s Gift Shop on the edge of the beach. People are real friendly any place you go. Great place to relax.

The hotel has competitions through out the day in which you earn a certificate if you win and play money. I think it was every other day they have an auction to spend the money on. They auction bottles of rum, shirts, hats, champagne and a 25min spa massage.

Wish we were still there

The service was fantastic, and what a beautiful setting. All inclusive at this hotel was definitely that!!! Drinks and food were readily available anytime. Much more to do than expected. The pics and description on the websites do not do it justice. Everything you need is there--no need to leave. The horseback riding on the beach was a plus as well as their spa. Was a little leary on the way to the resort with the country crazy drive, but well worth it!!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Must do the horseback ride on the beach that is extra---was a great time, beautiful scenery, and well worth the $$$. Take advantage of the shows and events throughout the day and night. Their entertainment team puts on great activities for all ages.

Dreams was great!

We ahd a wonderful time at the resort, the staff is friendly and efficient and the place had plenty to do. The pool is very large and as good as advertised and for those who enjoy the beach as my wife and I do; it is not all that crowded due to so many people at the pool. Housekeeping service was awesome with service twice a day and if anything was ever needed it could be had in a flash. We will visit again!

Sweet Dream or Beautiful Nightmare !

It is very decieving.... It needs major cleaning, they have roaches. The rooms have mildew issues, which may be hard to control given it is an island. DO NOT ride on the evelator we got stuck in it, and had to crawl out. The pool closes at 7 pm, I mean it isn’t even dark out. Becareful of the sea, my girlfriend stepped on something and still has needles in her foot.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Club Imagine is a MUST !

Great resort, great relaxing vacation

The staff was very friendly, maid service did great job cleaning our room every day. Food was totally acceptable. Nice that we didn’t need reservations for dinner. Pool is beautiful, beach is beautiful. Drinks were great. The only thing that was not perfect was the shuttle ride booked through expedia. Took twice as long to get to the resort. Should have taken an hour, but the shuttle made stops at other resorts first and also got a little lost.

Great for kids, not bad for adults

The hotel had a great program for kids including all day daycare which looked awesome. The food was good and there were plenty of options with 5 sit down restaurants and 1 huge buffet. The room lacked some attention to detail in construction and maintenance, but it was clean and the maid service was very friendly. Wines from the wine list were extra and you had to buy an entire bottle with an average price around $35, but one house wine and all the other drinks were included and quite good. I recommend a drink called a Sammy Sosa. The pool that was the entire length of the resort was quite nice, especially with the waitresses coming around taking drink orders. The entertainment staff was great, always walking around telling everybody about the games that would be taking place in a rather amusing way and then putting on a good show at night. The best thing about the resort is the 24x7 room service that is completely included.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Don’t leave the resort.

Would love to go back

Everything about Dreams was wonderful. The hotel itself was beautiful and immaculately taken care of. The food in the restaurants was delicious. The scenery was restful and calm when I needed it to be and had lots of activities if that’s what I wanted to do. The staff made me feel like a millionaire. They were courteous and couldn’t do enough for me. I never saw so many smiles.

Awsome week

We were there for a wedding and it was awesome. We did nothing but stay by the pool the whole time but it was awesome. all of the staff was friendly. The only problem with anything on the resort was the flowers in our towel animal the first night. there were ants in it. that wasn’t the best night we had to wait till room service came and changed all the sheets and sprayed the room. it was a little unnerving that there were ants on the bed but we quickly got over it and didn’t have another ant the whole week. The pool was really nice too. Room service was good. when they say it will be 45 min to service you they are very punctual. And make sure you try the mango on a stick!!!!!!Delicious.

Great Resort for the Money

The resort was beautify and the staff were very very friendly. There were 7 restaurants. We didn’t try the French and Japanese but we loved Oceana. We didn’t like Italian restaurant much but you can walk over the World Buffet for any food you like. There were plenty of food and they were very decent. The breakfast at World Buffet was amazing. If you want to swim in the ocean, go to the left side of the resort (you can see the big turtle floating for kids), there are no rocks in the water. The pool was big and beautiful but not deep (only 3 feet). We had a great 5 days at Dreams and we would recommend this location.

Traveler's tip

You have to pay $10 when you arrive at the airport. Even if they said gratuities included, bring lots of singles to tip the service people, i.e., maids, waiters, waitresses, fruit ladies, bartenders,.. because they are very nice and they deserve tips.

Fabulous trip, amazing service.

The Hotel and its grounds are beautiful... Meticulously kept. Regular rooms are a bit small, but we upgraded to a suite and it was perfect. The food was excellent, and there is a great variety. There are several restaurants to choose from, besides the Main restaurant. The most amazing part of this hotel are the staff and employees. By far the friendliest I have encountered in all of my trips, especially in the Caribbean. Wander at the front desk will go out of his way to accomodate you. Melkis and the entertainment staff were fantastic and always made sure that all of the guests were having a good time. Plenty of activities to do, like kayaking, banana boats, snorkeling, etc. The ocean is beautiful, however, you have to realize that you are in the Atlantic side, not the Caribbean side, therefore the water is not as green/turqouise as I expected it. All and all a "Wonderful Experience". Can’t wait to go back.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The trip to Santo Domingo, is a must if you would like to get a bit of the history of this wonderful Country. The Funny Monster day trip is a fun adventure. Do the snorkeling, and swimming with the nurse sharks and sting rays.

Resort lives up to it’s name: Dreams Punta Cana

The hotel lives up to it’s name: Dreams Punta Cana. It’s a beautiful resort and all the staff were great, friendly and quite hospitable. The rooms were very clean, the food was great and service was exceptional. The pool is fabulous! The beach was a little dangerous as it was not drained but nonetheless it was great. It is a bit far from the airport (about 1 hours) as it is not quite in Punta Cana. If you are Dominican you’ll know what I mean. It’s in a town called Uvero Alto - part of Punta Cana. But would definitely recommend it and will definitely go back.
