Economical but not the greatest
The hotel is in a great and convenient location--in the Portuguese quarter near the Harbor and metro accessible. Can’t beat the price. The hotel is quite nosey and if you want to sleep in--forget it. Housekeeping is banging around and vacuuming around 9-10am. If you are a non-smoker make sure that you are in a room that does not have the stentch of tobacco. With exception to one person (who was extremely helpful), the customer service is very mediocre. The exceptional person upgraded me to a better room after I complained about the noise.

Fantastic for the Money
If you want a clean, friendly and convenient place to stay in Hamburg for a good price, this place can’t be beat. There was a 5 euro breakfast offered every morning, which is an unbeatable price, the rooms were very clean and comfortable (we requested a crib and got it), and the location was great - in the Portuguese quarter, near the harbor and a five minute walk to the Landungsbruecke U-Bahn stop (the U-Bahn stop in the hotel info is not correctly written, so watch out!)
Very easy with an 18-month old. They also have a high chair in the dining room. There was a nice mix of ages and types of people - an overall great stay.
