Location better than it looks
I was very concerned when approaching the very plain hotel in a commercial area that seemed from driving in was well outside the gates of charming Siena. However,in 15 minutes on a flower lined, steep path you reach the San Marco gate. The hotel had a clientele of mostly traveling salespersons when I stayed there but was very clean and comfortable for the price. The town is jam packed with tourists so I really enjoyed the quiet that the hotel offered.
Traveler's tip on dining
There is a fabulous seafood restaurant right next door with much lower prices than comparable places inside the Siena gates.
