Great location, great hotel
When we arrived, the receptionist was very helpful in giving us recommendations for dinner. The room was clean and bright with low key decor. The location is perfect and allowed us to wander across the street to the Del to watch the sunset while sipping on a chardonnay. I would stay there again.

OK hotel in a great location
We stayed at the La Avenida for 5 nights over spring break with teenaged kids along. The room was decent and the beds comfortable. The bathroom could stand updating and there was no exhaust fan, just a window. It was nice to have parking right outside our room, making it convenient to come and go. The location is great. Right in the middle of the strip, with restaurants all around us and other places to shop, etc. It is right across the street from the famous Del Coronado hotel, which is on the beach. You walk right through the Del’s property to get to the beach. No problem at all. The continental breakfast was just muffins and mostly dry pastries. Coffee, no milk or juice. There is a Bruegels Bagels right next door (40’ away), which was excellent. The biggest problem we had was that the pool was closed for our entire trip. They said that the state of California had changed the law regarding pool drains and that they were on a waiting list to get the pool fixed. That was a bummer for our kids. They wound up swimming in the 59 degree ocean! For the money, I would say this was a very good place. If you don’t need a lot of fanciness and amenities, you should be pleased with it.

Very nice...
This hotel was very nice, close to the beach and well maintained. Walls are a little thin and not enough parking for guests. Other than that, I would stay here again.

Very close to the beach, right across the street. Eateries right next door and a grocery store just down the street.
