San Juan
The customer service of the hotel was great. They were able to check us into our room, hours before the hotel’s stated check-in time of 3pm. The room its self was clean and comfortable, the only complaint I have was with the bathroom. The shower took forever to warm up and there was very little water pressure to actually take a shower. I would hope that maybe this was our room only and not every room in the hotel. One positive, was free internet access. The hotel is in walking distance to the beach and several fast-food and upscale restraunts if you are looking for a variety of food choices. The restraunts in the hotel itself were good as well.

More than good enough for the price!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn San Juan. The staff was very friendly, the room was nice, the pool was very nice, and the gardens were beautiful. We at that the 20/Eighty restaurant mainy for breakfast (large choice of options), and once for dinner. We were very satisfied! Only negative thought we had was th fact that if you rent a room with a balcony, there is one chair and one stretcher outside on a rather dirty floor...we were hoping for at least a table and a few chairs. But that didn’t ruin our trip! The staff was super friendly, that is one of the most important things.

great hotel
there was always friendly service people in the hotel,and always a doorman to open the door.the lobby was clean and big with an information desk nearby. the hallways to the rooms were all air conditioned.there could have been an ice machine on every floor instead of only two floors.the rooms were comfortable and always cool.our room had a balcony with a nice view.how ever there were 2 beer cans left under the lounge chair the maid missed.I liked the 5 pillows on the bed....the fitness room and internet were good,but there could have been more computers available than the 2 they only had.the view on the roof in the area outside the fitness room was breathtaking...the pool water was perfect temperature and the spray pool was fun...the beach was only 1 block away. the hotel is very close to the airport.
Traveler's tip
there is a nearby charlies rental car for 1 day which is cheaper than the bus tour to el yunque rain forest.otherwise it is better to take the a-5 or c-53 bus into old san jaun,but be ready to wait 30 minutes between buses.nearby is a shopping complex with all the fast food and ponderosa steak house.the los americas plaza mall is worth seeing,and the buses go there.the puerto rican people are very friendly,and most speak english.
