A gem in Anacapri
Our stay in Albergo Senaria was delightful and quiet. As Anacapri is away from the hustle and bustle of Capri, one can enjoy the sea and the verdant surroundings in a modicum of peace. Those who both owned the Albergo, as well as those who worked there, were unfailingly polte, civil, and informative.
Traveler's tip on dining
There is very little of culinary excitement in Anacapri. However, there are basic restaurants that meet the traveler’s needs. One gripe is the increasing amount of the "coperto" or cover charge in all restaurants, very often offering no table linen or even bread. This has been a negative perception of mine ever since I began travelling to Italy. Some of the prices and cover charges on the Isle of Capri are outrageous, to say the least.

Beautiful, tranquil, and idyllic
I was thrilled with the Albergo Senaria upon arrival, and it only got better throughout our stay. The hotel was clean, tranquil, and stylish. The staff were low-key, friendly, and helpful. The terrace was lovely, and I enjoyed relaxing outside, taking in the views. The room, including bathroom, was clean, new, and cheery. The breakfast, out on the lower terrace, was delicious. I was expecting budget accommodation, but in the end I wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else, even if I had money to spare. Anacapri is definitely the quieter, more quaint side of the island- I definitely recommend it and the Albergo Senaria.

Anacapri is beautiful
We were very happy with the warm reception that we received when we arrived. Each of the staff working at the front desk spoke at least some English and were most helpful with all of our needs. Breakfast included pastries, fruit, cheese, ham and coffee. Special requests for coffee such as ’Americano’ or cappucino were brought to us promptly. One night we brought a bottle of wine to enjoy on the patio. The staff quickly produced a cork screw and wine glasses for us without hesitation. The view from the upper patio is so beautiful, we were able to relax and unwind after several days of travel and sightseeing. This was one of 4 hotels that we stayed in during our trip to Italy and the room was by far the largest.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
When you arrive at the port in Capri, look for the orange bus to take you to Anacapri, taxi’s are very expensive. We took the bus which was crowded but adequate transportation. The boat tour around the island is great! Take the chairlift ride to the top, the view is out of this world!
