Great Hotel and location
The has a nice Eurpean feel about it, rooms very clean comfortable. The Bar and restaurant are very good. Hotel Situated in the middle of Phillipsburg on Front street great for shopping etc, BUT no parking available if you have a car big problem of where to park. I thought the room rates a little high for off season.
Traveler's tip on shopping
Plenty of shops on Front and back street all within easy walking distance. The usuall aray of jewlery shops and other tourist stuff. A good number of Bars and restaurants also an easy stroll in the evening

Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Value
My girlfriend and I decided to take a vacation to St. Maarten and we wanted a hotel in the heart of things and right on the beach. The Holland House Beach Hotel fulfilled our wishes. It is located right between Front Street (with lots of shopping) and the beach. It is a hop, skip, and a jump away from a number of bars and restaurants also. We were happy with our room, which had a stylish European chic design. The bathrooms were definitely left out of the modern renovations, but overall we both thought it was a great place to stay. I recommend this place and I feel the room rates are reasonable.
Traveler's tip on dining
We ate out every meal at a different place and overall I was especially happy with our meal at The Green House. Drink-wise, our favorite spot was Tru Roots, a little hut of a bar located at the end of the beach (turn right when walking out of the Holland House Beach Hotel). This bar was nothing fancy at all, and we loved it. It only serves bottled beer and sodas (just the basics). The owner/bartender was extremely laid back and friendly, and this place definitely added to our island experience.

Not bad but lots of noise
The hotel itself is not bad and the location is great. The only thing that bothered me was late at night if you do not have the beach side view, which we did not, there is a lot of noise. I woke up to three different sounds every night which consisted of garbage trucks, honking horns and delivery trucks.
