Nice with a few surprises

We had a wonderful weekend but was surprised to wake up to voices next door that sounded as if they were standing next to our bed. The walls were VERY thin especially for a Westin hotel. I found that to be a little disconcerting. The only other issue we had was with service in the main restaurant. Both time we went for breakfast there were very few people in the restaurant but yet we had VERY slow service. We were seated and then never even acknowledged for 10 minutes. The other restaurants were great and the golf courses were awesome so we’d probably go back even in spite of the issues.

If you’re a golfer you MUST check out Golf Town which is a huge store just at the bottom of the hill.

3 great nights enjoyed by a family of 4

even though the finishing touches were not there yet we enjoyed our stay and the staff were very helpful and nothing pretentious we loved our room and bathroom in the Fairways building and I have already suggested to family from England that they visit we had one problem, golf clubs were not on the right level for a Sunday morning game and after finding them 20 minutes later there was not enough warm up time

close enough to enjoy Victoria downtown and the Gardens, we loved Sooke and could just as easily have spent more of our 3 night visit at the hotel

Extremely Impressed

Definitely a real 4-star facility/property. Booking through Expedia, the lowest rates, was definitely icing on the cake.

Amazing Views

Extremely pleased with our choice to stay outside of victoria. The property is beautiful with mountain fews and great hiking right out the door. Victoria is about a 10-15minute drive. Enjoyed spending some days down in the city and then relaxing in tranquility back at the resort. The restaurants are priced a little high but convenient. The golf course looks immaculate but greens fees are steep. Enjoyed breakfast out on the terrace overlooking the golf course. Great choice overall.

A rental car is a must.

Hotel under construction

The hotel is under construction, so it is noisy and not as nice as it will be a couple of years from now. The staff is well trained, but some of them could be more friendly and the rooms available for families with pets do not have any view. Spa is quite good and so are the food and most of the instalations, I would stay yhere again, but not until the constructuion is finished, at least 2 years.

Fabulous Hotel

The hotel was beautiful with a great view of the mountains and golf course. The suite was huge and spectacular! We had room service one day and everything was like we were in a fine dining establishment. The only complaint we had is that it is on top of the mountain and a bit of a drive at night. But the hotel was well worth the trip up and see baby deer on the side of the road was terrific. We can’t say enough of this facility.

Wonderful golf resort experience

The Westin Bear Mountain Resort exceeded our expectations--and we had pretty high expectations! Our room turned out to be a suite with 2 baths, full kitchen, living room with fireplace, comfortable bedroom and balcony overlooking the 1st tee of the golf course. The food and service were excellent, and my husband loved the golf course so much that he wound up playing it 3 times instead of the 1 he’d intended.
