Nice place

Bed was fine. Room was small but clean. The staff was friendly. Close to many eateries and shopping.

Really comfortable

The hotel was in a great central location. It was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable. I especially appreciated the soft bed and sheets. My only complaint was that the walls in the bathroom needed repair and some of the fixtures were worn. However, for the low price, those were easy to overlook.

I was looking for a quick inexpensive hotel for my daughter and I to have a "girl night". We had a lot of fun and the hotel was perfect for us.

My husband and I stopped here for the night during our road trip. We were very impressed with the value of the room. It was small, but very clean and well kept. The bed was more comfortable than more expensive hotels that we’ve visited! We would stay again if we are in the area.

Nice place to stay, Superb price

We had a four night stay here. The rooms are small, but quite comfortable for two. The rooms, bathrooms, hallways, etc. are clean. The breakfast is nice - bananas, choice of coffees, apple juice, orange juice, cereal, bread, muffins, bagels. The staff is helpful and friendly. For a comfortable, inexpensive place to stay for a night or several nights, this is a great spot. And very handy to the Smokies, UT-K, Oak Ridge, etc. Enjoy! We did.

affordable - good location

Good affordable, clean room for your out of town guests who are in town for a short stay. Somewhat small room but adequate. Good location.

Very comfortable and affordable

For one or two people, Microtel’s room is excellent. I was there for a week on my own and was very comfortable. The breakfast included fresh fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, bagels, toast, and was a nice way to start the day. The staff is pleasant and helpful, and keeps the place clean and nice. The basic cost is very affordable, and this Microtel is very conveniently located to visit Knoxville, UT-K, the Smokies, Oak Ridge, and surrounding areas. Also - good restaurants, and a good variety of them, are located very nearby.

Traveler's tip on dining

Carraba’s is across the street & just west 100 yards or so. We enjoyed a lovely meal there. Numerous other eateries within a block or so, and a Cracker Barrel is across I40 "as the crow flies" (1/4 mile driving).

Pleasantly surprised

For the price we paid, I was a little nervous about what the hotel would look like when we got there. The rooms were a little small, but clean. Price included continental breakfast as well. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised.

First time in a Microtel-very pleasant. For a budget I was expecting unclean. Very clean.

Staying in Macon, Chattanooga, Nashville, & Johnson City on this trip I had the most pleasant stay at this Microtel because of it’s cleanliness and helpful and friendly staff. Of course these rooms are smaller, but provided all the needed space for my personal comfort and business activities.

Terrible is the nicest thing I can say

I can’t begin with anything nice other than the staff was definitely friendly. The problems outweigh it though. My back hurt from the bed. The air was never balanced and I had to keep changing it on and off. The towels/cloths and the rug was removed by the housekeeping and they only gave me back 2 towels, so I had to call and ask for them. Next, housekeeping came into my room while I had stepped out quickly, but had the DND sign on the door-I was getting ready to shower, but needed to get something. When I came back all of my towels/cloths and run were gone again and this time, they were not replaced. I called the desk and they were shocked as to why the housekeeping would come in my room with a do not disturb sign on the door, but they did nothing about it and although they said they would have towels sent up, I ended up looking for the housekeeper and found her eating in a room. The smoke alarm low-battery beeped in the middle of the night 3-4AM. Breakfast was not good. The elevators smelled of smokers. There were knats in the rooms too--I didn’t know I needed Off spray in the room. The network was down and they didn’t know anything other than to give an 800 #. There was no phone book-they were being replaced, but seriously, keep a phone book since the new one’s had note arrived.

Disappointed

We did get our rooms at a really good rate, but I would have been willing to pay more for a nicer place. It was old and in need of repair. Very "generic". No iron board or iron. I guess you get what you pay for. It was clean though.

very nice

This hotel was extremely clean. The room was done in all white including the comforter, which makes me think it is cleaned everytime someone stays there. The only problem with this room ws it was very small but i would swap small foe clean.
