A real gem of a place
Tour of Europe June/July 2007 UK, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy & France (spent 2 nights at 15 hotels). Average (mean) cost per night for 2 adults was GBP72. This was the 11th hotel visited. Cost close to average. A real gem of a place A family run hotel in a wonderful quiet location close to Grenoble. Good sized room, tastefully furnished and nicely decorated. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom/WC. No safe facility. Our room was reasonably cool, despite not having air con. As the hotel is in its own grounds there is no problem having the windows open; quiet and secure. Good mountain views. It was pleasantly incongruous to find that such an old chateau, with bags of history and character should have WiFi available free of charge in our room. Free parking in grounds that are secure (electronic gates). Staff very friendly and helpful; very nice ambience. Food is a bit pricey, but you are paying for quality. Overall we were very happy with our stay at the chateau. We would definitely recommend.
