Nice hotel, great location.
Hotel Clauzel is a nice hotel. It is located in a typical Parisian street, with cafes, pastry shops, supermarket, etc. close by. The rooms are small but enough to spend there the night. It was our second visit to the hotel, and we were able to see two types of rooms: Both were small, but the last one (23) was slightly bigger. The staff is nice and helpful, although some dont really know English. Breakfast is very standard (dont expect a warm croissant), but satisfying. The location is amazing. It is in walk distance from almost every main attraction in Paris. We like to walk a lot, so it was great for us. We had no noise problems. In general, this is a small, nice hotel. Dont expect luxury, but it is good enough for spending the night and have a good sleep.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
If you plan on going to the Eiffel tower, get there when it opens the gates. Later on there is a huge crowd. The same for Palace of Versailles, in which we waited 2 hours in line to buy entrance tickets (!). The metro automatic machines dont accept bills, just coins. Dont know why.

Fine, for the money
Location pretty good - not too far to a couple of metro stops, and two good bistros nearby. Also a good bakery. Neighborhood fine in the day, and up until the bistros empty - about 10 or 11ish. After that felt a bit dicey. Hotel breakfasts were fine, but the coffee was vending-machine style. Room clean and adequate, but the bathroom shelf was broken, meaning I couldnt even put down my toothpaste without having it slide into the sink.
