Blackmail at the reception desk
When I declined to have in imprint of my credit card taken at check in for this room which was already paid, I was asked for a $100 security deposit. I presented an American Express Traveler’s check for payment, and it was refused. I was out of the money I had paid for the room, and had no room. We moved on.

Retro charm
The hotel har its charm as it recembles the ones you’ve seen before in roadmovies and TV-series. The rooms were spacious, we had two queen beds and one sofa-bed. The bathrooms were decent, though a bit worn. The complimentary breakfast was set up in the lobbyarea, and was not worth a penny. You should rather go to the 24hr diner two blocks up ocean rd. if you want to enjoy a cup of coffee and some pancakes. Distance from the city center was allright, even though you should not walk over the bridge alone during the night... You should have a car if you plan on going to the beach....
Traveler's tip on dining
Two magnificent restaurants/lounges were found on the paralell street of pacific ave. They were 515 and the Red Room. They serve food and cocktails with a lot of soul in it, and has really good atmosphere.
