Very impressed, good location, great price
I was very impressed with this hotel. The hotel was renovated for the olympics, and the rooms are comfortable and stylish. It is very nice for the price and in a very good location. Just a quick walk from the food night market and shopping malls, and just a few minutes from the forbidden city and square (they are a quick and cheap cab ride away.) Theres a restaurant across the street from the hotel called Tai Wan with GREAT food and an english menu. I highly recommend.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
We went to the Great Wall and actually hired a taxi that charged us a very good price for driving us (3 adults) to and from the wall for the day. We had a friend in Beijing that set the trip up for us the day before, and the cab was waiting for us at the time we gave him the next day. So if you know someone or can communicate with a taxi, you can negotiate a price for the day and it will save you a lot of money vs. taking a tour bus. Just make sure he is a licensed taxi driver.

great value and location
4 star hotel at 3 star price. I was a bit worried when I pulled up as it does not have great curb appeal. OK, but not as impressive as some other hotels. But, the interior (lobby, rooms, etc.) has all been renovated and is very nice. I was on the 8th floor looking out the front of the hotel and the views from my window were not much to mention. But, the location of the hotel is great. Walking distance/very short taxi ride to the south entrance of the Forbidden city, as well as the art museum, Bei Hai and Jing Shan parks, and Wanfujing shopping. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. Most spoke English.
