Pictures are deceiving
Great location, however, the room was very old. When we walked into the room, there was a terrible odor. We called maintenance (who came right away) who discovered there was stagnant water in the drain, hence the smell. He came back with some spray to mask the smell but it never totally went away. Also, the second window never opened, the handle was missing. Just be careful you’re not in the older section of the hotel because you’ll have nothing but problems.

Centrally located and comfortable
This hotel was great considering I knew nothing about Berlin! It was an easy walk from the bus and train station (which came from the airport). Thus close to the zoo! The buses run only a block away and were easy to ride all around the city from the Sorat. Breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast room was very pleasant. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Do not use the internet at the hotel. It is quite spendy and the street to the train/bus station has at least two internet locations that are reasonably priced. I’d recommend doing a self guided tour on the regular city bus, then walking tours and/or the river tour of sites you want to see close up. You could even do a self guided walking tour (though the tour guides had interesting insights) with a good map. It was very easy to get around in Berlin. City transit is great.
