A really old fashioned place!
Unfortunately we spent only one night there; we found very comfortable our room, with many small old fashioned things. We appreciated an unusual breakfast: baked eggs with artichokes. It is the right place for a relaxing stay.

Average Bed and Breakfast
If you are looking for affordable lodging in the Mendocino area and want a slight bump up from the chain motels, this is a good choice. If you are looking for a real bed and breakfast experience, you may be a little disappointed. My wife and I stayed here with my parents. My wife and I are younger and used to choosing budget accommodations, so we were generally satisfied with the stay, but my parents were expecting a little more. Some of their chief complaints were the lack of contact with the proprietors and the skimpy offerings at breakfast. The inn owners were non-existent until the morning after our check-in. They had left a "check-in package" in the mailbox on our arrival, with instructions to let ourselves in. The first time we saw them was when they came out to replace coffee at breakfast the following morning. They served a breakfast quiche, but there was only coffee out in the morning. They finally put out hot water and a tea selection when requested, but it seems odd that one would have to request this. The fact that the owners were not present at our arrival is probably of the greatest concern. The owners certainly have lives too and dont want to be stuck indoors all day--but then again, if you dont want to commit yourself to this life, why bother opening an inn? From a guest perspective, it is troubling in terms of security--the owners probably have little idea who is staying at their inn, and it would be very easy for intruders to gain access to the inn.
