less than what i expected

Rooms are small to make you feel uncomfortable,you cannot stay more than one night

Great option for the money

Good location within 4 blocks of subway station (Jamaica-Van Wyck), good buffet breakfast, friendly staff and complimentary airport shuttle (previously scheduled). Good options to eat nearby and, even though the surroundings are not the nicest, is safe to eat outside at reasonable hours. Definitely would be back.

Very practical

The hotel is a standard Super8, not the nicest in town, but a safe choice. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite longtime in the cold before the hotel shuttle arrived at JFK. The room was recently refurbished and therefore very nice. As it was in the basement, I still would not have wanted to stay more than one night.

Won’t go back

Common spaces small, dreary and crowded. Located in a seedy part of Jamacia where we observed a street fight on the way to a nearby Wendy’s where we were accosted by an agressive panhandler.

Quite Impressed

I have stayed in a lot of Super 8’s. The last one I stayed in Daytona Beach had many problems with the electronic locks, loose doors, dirty... For a NY hotel at this price I expected average to poor condition. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall clean and fairly updated condition of this place.

Bugs in room

My room was half-way underground but still considered to be on the first floor. I found bugs on the bathroom floor and in my bag in the morning. I like to believe that mine was an isolated event. But you never know.

Nice hotel, rooms a little small for 4

We stayed at the super 8 for 6 nights while on vacation and to see a yankees game. Was a little worried after reading other reviews but It was not bad. Rooms were a little small for a family of 4 but you only sleep in it. Nicley located to the subway only 3 blocks away. It was nice that there was resturants right outside the hotel. I was also worried about noise and we ran the air conditioner every night in the room and didn’t hear any outside noise. We were very satisfied with the hotel for the price you pay. We would definetly stay there again. You could get a little weird feeling because houses and building have metal bars on the windows but we felt fine and I have a 7 year old and a 5 year old. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. A little mix up on hotel shuttle to airport but they straightened that right out for us. Nice continetal breakfast for free. Beds were comfortable.

We found that using the subway saved us alot of money and it isn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Yes it was very hot in the month of July but it was definely worth the money we saved. There is a Mcdonalds, Wendy’s, BaskinRobin, Dunkin Dounuts, Subway right outside this hotel It is great if you have kids. This was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Kid friendly food.

Good economy family hotel

Surprised by the reception, the hotel features and the price.

Terrible.

Do not stay at this hotel. Forget that it is in a bad neighborhood i expected that for the price, butthey dont care about nothing. they wouldnt bring anything to your room. they didnt bother making one of our beds. The food was terrible and the hotel is hot and cramped. it feels like ur in an airplane’s bathroom the whole time. the nighttime staff was so blah. the guy wouldnt even get off the phone to give us a towel. His cell phone mind you. Terrible

Can’t beat the price-with free parking

I was skeptical about the advertised "limited" free parking, but there was always a space open for my car plus other numerous unused spaces which allowed my family to travel our intended way through NYC...by subway. The walk to the subway is 2 blocks like advertised, right next to a hospital so it’s safe as well. Room was almost spacious for what I’ve become accustomed to with bargain Hotels. Very clean, newly furnished. Continental breakfast was excellent and the staff kept it stocked. Some may be intimidated by the neighborhood, it’s not the best...but hey it’s NYC...what were you expecting? If you want Midtown Manhattan, you have to pay for Midtown Manhattan with an hefty parking fee as well. Well worth the price.

bad experience

The hotel is in a such a bad area and we did not feel safe at all. The receptionist was so rude and all the staff had a bad attitude ( except the shuttle driver). The bed was broken. We liked the high speed internet.I don’t think I would go back ever again.

Great for travel throughs

Very nice stay if you are flying out early next day. Choices of food outside hotel door. Jamacia train station down the block. Staff was helpful and friendly.

DON’T GO FOR A STROLL AT NIGHT ...

Yes, I know, it’s there in the small print. The airport shuttle stops at 11.30 pm. I only discovered this after taking the JFK airtrain to the shuttle pick-up point at half past midnight and then had to go all the way back to the terminal for a cab. As ever in New York, the driver hadn’t a clue where he was going and I didn’t arrive at hotel until after 1.0 am. More hungry than tired after a flight from LA, I went off on foot in search of an ATM and fast food outlet. Using the drive-in windo as a pedestrian is interesting but walking a gauntlet of teenaged ’gangstas’ on the way back from the cash point was a little disconcerting. The hotel room itself was comfortable, though I think I must have used the service stairs to get to my door. At least, I hope I did. I’d go back all right but I’ve always been a sucker for punishment at the right price!

Traveler's tip

I like Jamaica Avenue and the little businesses which crowd it. There’s a great buzz about the place. Yet this Super 8 is not very well located and I’d certainly not advise anybody - okay, maybe Steven Segal - to go walkabout late at night.

comfortable and clean

If you are planning a trip to Manhattan then this hotel can be a money saver as it is a much cheaper hotel than in the Manhattan. The only problem is that it is a 20-30 minute subway ride to the city. I personally wish i would have stayed in the city and avoided these long rides on the subway especially after a long day and night of walking in the city. but the hotel was clean, comfortable and only a 5 min walk to the subway station. I could see where some people would say the area was bad but to me it was completely fine

Good value for money

Hotel shuttle waited for us at the JFK Circle Station D, about 10 min. past 10h PM, which was a very pleasant surpirse, since we were prepared to wait for the next shuttle at 11h PM. Breakfast was sufficient, waffles were very tasty.

Good place to stay if you have an overnight connection at JFK.

Good, clean, small, reasonably priced hotel with a very friendly staff. Breakfast, however, was very limited and the breakfast area tiny.

Traveler's tip on dining

Restaurants within walking distance are scarce. We opted to "dine" at a nearby fast-food place, because we were too exhausted from a long flight to explore further or take a taxi.

Perfect if you need Shuttle

Selected this hotel because of its free shuttle too/from JFK. Shuttle was very reliable, it arrived to pick us up at Station C Federal Circle before we did and was on time for a (very) early morning departure. The hotel itself, while not 4 Stars, was clean and the beds were fine. Only downside I could find was hallways were somewhat noisy and we could hear the people in the next room. It was a Friday night, however. Wendys and McDonalds as well as several Chinese restaurants just down the street. Hotel in an urban setting but excellent street lighting at night.

Great stay! I would return here! This was the first time I stay in a hotel out of Manhattan and it was really good! The subway station is close and they picked me up at Federal Circle station of the AirTrain and on the way back, they took me directly to the airline terminal!! Go there, it’s great! And the room was perfect!

Experience was satisfactory

We stayed overnight on the return from an international flight. Staff was very friendly and efficient. We had few hours there because of our late arrival and early flight the next morning; however, we were pleased with the experience.

Considering price, it is ok.

But breakfast seems not so good...
