Good location, reasonably priced for decent quality, very kid-friendly
Had a very nice stay at the Novotel Gare de Lyon. The location is easy to get to from trasportation (railroad, or direct bus service from CDG one block away). Metro access is one block away. Many decent restaurants in a couple block radius. Hotel room was comfortable, clean, and decent-sized for central Paris. The pool was very popular with my daughter who was with me. Staff were friendly and very helpful with answering questions. Would definitely recommend for families. Would be fine for business trips as well. Internet access for 15 euro a day was awfully expensive.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
If you have Boingo for roaming internet access, sign up for their $59/month worldlwide roaming program (if only for the month your traveling to Europe), which works in this Novotel through Orange. Much cheaper than the 15 euro a day hotel charge for internet access.

Excellent Staff!
We stayed one night before leaving the next morning on a TGV to southern France. We were moving to France and had 13 bags with us. The next morning, the front desk guy helped us walk all of our bags on a hotel luggage cart through Gare de Lyon and helped us get all of our bags on the train. He was amazing and we tipped him well. I’ve never known a U.S. hotel to ever do that! We were very pleased with our service at this hotel. Very helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived.
