Convenient and comfortable
I only stayed for a night and had to leave early to catch a train. However, the room and bathroom were nice and clean and the staff was helpful. It’s a good place to stay if you are going to see an opera at the arena because it is literally right next to it.
Traveler's tip on dining
Ristorante Greppia, Vicolo Samaritana 3. Get the boiled meats - but specify which meat you want so there are no surprises. It’s amazing and they bring you 6 different jars of sauces.

Rooms are small and stuffy
The hotel has a great location and is clean and freshly decorated. The breakfast room and breakfast are fine. The problem is that the rooms are very small and many face a wall at the back with casement windows that barely have room to open. I rejected the first room because one small window hardly opened and it was stifling. The second was also tiny with twin beds but had two windows, which could be propped open. Two people could not have stayed in that room. The casement window would have decapitated one and the other would have had to crane her neck 180 degrees to even glimpse the tv! Probably, rooms facing the street are better, but these were taken when I was there. If I hadn’t paid in advance, I would have left.

There’s a lovely cloister next to the Duomo. Go through the alley to the left of the front of the Duomo to get to it.
