Very nice staff
I was only at this hotel one evening and checked in very late. The night manager greeted me warmly and upgraded my single room to a suite for no additional fee and they all treated me like a queen. The accommodations were fairly good, but I highly recommend this hotel just for the staff and the service.

Well located modern and clean hotel with helpful staff
The Alexandros, located off a busy boulevard between 2 metro stops (Megaro Musikis and Ampelokipi). The entrance is actually behind a small Orthodox Greek church which has a circular drive wrapped around it. No views from the hotel. There are plenty of places to eat nearby (within 5 to 10 minutes walk). You have a choice of Greek fast-food, like Everest, which serves take-out or stand-up coffees and cheese/spinach pies, or small sit-down café-restaurants with typical Greek salads and not-so-light main courses. 10 minute walk to the north takes you to Alexandras Street with both American and Greek food, from real restaurants to pizza places. While there are plenty of short-term travelers and groups who lodge there, we were treated warmly by the staff, who were quite helpful with everything from sight-seeing information to how to use the metro, translating Greek, or calling and briefing a taxi. The quality of the rooms varied and we were more pleased with the ones on the backside of the hotel. The breakfast was included with the room and was just varied enough to keep us interested the whole month. The hotels restaurant was adequate and beat many other local prices, but recommended only if you are too tired to go out. Use of the parking garage is free for guests. More interestingly, your friends and guests may park their cars in front of the hotel as you go out, as long as you leave the keys at the front desk.
Traveler's tip
September is an ideal month to visit - more comfortable than the summer for walking around, very little rain and fewer tourists. A new café, Palacio, opened on the corner to the right as you leave the hotel. Very good coffees and lunch menus. Around the corner at Mavili Square are several café bars and two restaurants, of ordinary quality, although with limited selections. Try your morning cappuccino (Euro 2.5) from Apostolidis in the tiny "Loras" café.
