Clean and comfortable
The Red Roof Inn is a good choice for convenience, comfort, cleanliness, and basic services. It is a no frills property that provided me with a spacious, clean, and comfortable room at a good price. I was not looking for an extended stay, and this more than adequately served my purpose. It is always nice when upon arriving in the breakfast area the next morning, the management greets you by name! I will definitly consider this property for my next stay in San Marcos.

No elevator
Had to carry our luggage up the stairs to the second floor, but a good value when trying to save money

Decent stay for the Summertime blues .
Stayed over July 4th holiday weekend.Looks recently remodeled.Owner was very nice,and even helped with our ice chest going upstairs.Clean room all the way.Two minor issues were, a little more comfort level as far as the beds go and,an elevator for an inside two story hotel would be nice.Good location in San Marcos,which is only 20 minutes to tubing on the Comal River.Hotel is reasonably priced even on a holiday weekend,and we would return again.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Save money and stay in San Marcos for river fun,as accomodations in New Braunfels are waaaay overpriced.Try one of the best steaks in the state at Texas Reds in town.
