Not bad, not great
I found the room to be comfortable. The internet connection was problemmatic, and the IT staff member had to do a custom setup in order for me to access the internet at the hotel. Concierge service was mediocre - when asking for a restaurant, and I was asking with my Chinese friend who is from Shanghai, they gave us a tentative name for the restaurant, they weren’t sure what it was, and were too lazy to get the address for us until we insisted we needed this in order to find it.

Guangdong Hotel
This is one of my favorite places to stay. Its close to all the places that I need to take care of business. Although not close to the touristy places, it is a comfortable and very nice 4 star hotel, rated 5 stars in China. I love the business room here as its fairly large and very nice beds and linens. The linens are soft and comfy. The internet connection is also complimentary and fast by China standsrds. Expedia always finds me a great rate here and I will continue to use Expedia for hotel needs abroad.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
Prepare to spend some taxi money but you knew that already if no private car.
