Excellent location
We stayed at this hotel before our cruise and after on two different occasions. This is not a five star hotel. What you get a clean room, remodeled, great bathroom and very helpful staff. It is on a quiet street in the same block as Japanese embassy and two blocks away from US embassy, iIn a short walk, you get a very nice avenue with shops, restaurants. In less than 30 minutes walk will get you to Spanish steps or Trevi fountain. The main railroad station and metro are also a short walk away. Yes the hotel is a little funky on the second floor, but its location is great. The morning breakfast is continental with great espresso coffee. The staff called for our shuttle service and we were able to use computer free on-site. Once again if you are looking for a five star hotel, this is not it. But if you are looking for a clean hotel, a little funky, with excellent central location I highly recommend this hotel.
If you are going to Rome, I would recommend guided tour of Vatican. This will save you time in long lines. We were able to get right in. Groups get special treatment and without a guide it is easy to get lost.

Good For The Price
An inexpensive, clean hotel within walking distance of most of the major sights of Rome. Beware of the extremely hard pillows which hamper a good nights sleep. (Ask for down pillows at the desk to over come this issue.) This hotel isnt fancy, but its clean an in a good location. Its the perfect hotel for those who would rather spend their money on food and other delights while saving on lodging.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The hotel is a quick ten minute walk to the Spanish Steps and great shopping.

very poor for a 3 star hotel---misleading info on their web site
hotel is on the 2nd floor of a dirty bldg. six cab drivers could not find it! there is no lobby and ice isnt available when requested. no one to help with luggage breakfast service was ok and room was clean but all else was a major disapointment. our 3 day stay 05/16-05/19 was a low point of the trip.
