Gross
Smelled of smoke in a non-smoking room. There was a hint of mold and grime in the air as well. Bed was hard and lumpy. THE WATER IS BROWN. I wish I had read the other reviews, yes the water is brown... dark brown. The front desk lady is rude and did not say one word. The place is loud from FW noise and is hard to find. The windows don’t lock. The AC/heat is crappy. It did have a microwave and full sized fridg though. No hair dryer or shampoos.

The only good thing was the wild black berries that grow next to the hotel. My husband and I picked a HUGE bucket full and put them in the ’fridge.

Customer Service severely lacking
A simple request to a night manager of additional pillows was met with an answer of "You have enough". When I mentioned the incident to the morning desk person when we checked out, I again was met with "You had enough, no other motel or hotel would have given you more". Their complete lack of the concept of Customer Service will prevent me from ever returning or recommending them to anyone.

Not impressed
We spent one night in the Scottish Lodge in Ferndale, WA. Despite asking for no smoking rooms, the rooms clearly had smoke residue. We had asked for handicapped accessible rooms but there were no rails in the bathroom. One of our two rooms had 4 inches of standing water in the bathtub. Both of the rooms were musty and dank. In addition, we had to run the water in the taps for quite some time to get the rust clear. The clerk at the front desk was less than helpful and woe be unto the unsuspecting traveler who thinks they might be able to get extra pillows! We shan’t darken the door of the Scottish Lodge again in the future.
