The Secret of Stockholm
I have stayed at Hotel Helsten a number of times. Always a pleasure. The staff is positive, helpful and brim with "positive" energy. The price for the stay is a steal.

Very Happy with Hellsten
We spent 5 nights here and loved it. The only thing we didnt like were that the double bed was actually 2 twin beds pushed together with 2 distinct sets of linens (of course this would be fine for platonic couples!). The breakfast was great, the lobby was great, the room was great, the staff were friendly. The location was convenient to the T-bana stop, walking and a city bikes station (we did all three). The surrounding neighborhood had plenty of services and we ate at several nearby restaurants. We loved it and would stay again in a heartbeat!
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
The city bikes card was great to use and pretty easy. We rode the bikes to the Vasa Museum and took the ferry back to Gamla Stan which was great to walk around.

Stayed at Hellsten in Oct 2009
Went with the wife to Stockholm and stayed at Hellsten for 3 nights. We were given a room with balcony on the 5th floor but it has 2 twin beds. Room is very small. We requested for a change to another room with a double bed. The front desk was very helpful and gave us a room on the the floor. Room is twice the size of the earlier room. There is no balcony in the room but we are very happy with it. Breakfast, which is included, was excellent. Enjoyed the breads and croissant every morning. About 20 minutes walk to city center and another 10 minutes walk from the city center to the "old town". There are some excellent Italian restaurants in the old town.
