Worked great for us
The EQ-2 Apartments are clean and nicely appointed. We had a 2 bedroom with beautiful leather couches, comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms. The people at the front desk were very helpful and pleasant. The apartments are not down in the "thick of it" near the Royal Mile, but it is just a relative short walk. It is also about a 5 minute walk to the Haymarket train station for arriving, departing or day trips. There are several excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. The apartments are next to the quay (canal). The immediate buildings are more modern and it appears to be an area where they have "recovered" property from a more industrial area in the past. One slight negative note -- the building (built in about 2003 or 04) has some foundation shifting -- so there are a few cracks in the walls. Overall, though, the place is excellent.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
The Meadows park is only a few blocks away, directly to the east and provides a good jogging spot.

GREAT place to dstay
The apartments are large and airy. Perfect if there is a couple of couples, or a family. The apt is two minutes walk from a bus stop and a 20 minute stroll from the Royal Mile.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Take the number 35 bus to the Ocean Terminal where the Royal Yacht Britannia is moored. The bus journey is about $5 for all day

Great stay in Edinburgh, Scotland
It was great staying in Edinburgh, Scotland. The EQ-2 was all and more than what we expected. What few times we had to call on the hotel personnel for help, they bent over backwards to help us. The only thing that was disappointing was that when we applied for this place to stay, it indicated room was air conditioned. It was not. We would probably stay there again if we visited Edinburgh, Scotland.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
If your stay and hotel has a kitchenette, consider purchasing and preparng meals in your room. This will save you some money. I dont mean dont eat out at local restaurants, just be selective, and you can save some money.
