2nd visit and cant imagine staying any where else
On my 1st visit to New York (Mother and Daughter Trip) selected this hotel in quiet area with easy access to subways, tour buses etc. I found that this was a wonderful hotel and could not ask for any better service etc. We enjoyed our stay so much that we did not question where we wanted to stay on our 2nd trip. Spouse was also impressed with the hotel. Great location, Clean, comfortable, safe, quiet location....cant say enough good things. Also great restaurant next door...Key West Diner.
If you have never been to New York, please plan to purchase a Grey Line City Tour (all Loops) and a NY Waterways Harbor Tour @ Pier 78. The all loops tour (red buses) are a great way to have transportation around the Burroughs and the tour guides are great. They also provide great tips on shopping and dining in the city.

will go back
This is a wonderful hotel. Very nice lobby, small but well maintained. I did not check the room when we checked in but while my son was in the shower I noticed that there was long brown hair all over the bathroom floor and on some of the towels. I called the desk and someone came to clean the floor and vacume the room, at my request. Otherwise the room was really nice. #602. I will go back if I need to be in that area again.

Good location, tiny room!
Located very close to the Broadway 96th Street subway stop, this low(ish) cost hotel was great for visiting Columbia. Room was as small as it could be and still contain a rather hard but firm double bed, high quality LCD tv on the wall, a side chair, and a small closet. Bathroom down hall (very close) recently remodeled in marble tile, good hot water. Good restaurants nearby (recommend Long Grain [thai/indonesian] VERY highly). No street noise (room at back) but walls a little thin - could hear neighbor snore. One slow elevator for people and service. Altogether satisfactory one nite stay.
Long Grain restaurant (Broadway and about 95th) was wonderful and inexpensive if you like Thai/Indonesian/Chinese fare; Toms (diner where Seinfeld ate) served a greasy, disappointing breakfast - look at the pics, eat elsewhere
