Convenient
This is a great hotel location wise. They have a little restaurant a 2 minute walk from the hotel which is very inexpensive probably a 1/3 of the hotel price. $ 15.00 Cab ride to Down Town. Definitely go eat at La Monesteria in Escuaza. The lay out of the hotel is very nice. Casino is small but quaint. All the staff are very nice with the expection of one or two front desk people. The food in the hotel is OK. It may just be me however I do not think Costa Rican people are very good at cooking meat or the quality of the meat is just not that good. Beautiful Hotel. This and the Marriott in the same area are the best in San Jose to me.

San Jose’s Best Hotel
Everyone at the Doubletree Cariari was exceptionally helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. We spent a total of 3 nights with them. The facilities are beautiful with the garden at the front and the gorgeous pool. The rooms were commodious and clean. The safe in the room came in handy for storing our passports while we went to dinner or shopping. There is a huge shopping mall within walking distance and several restaurants too. I would love to stay there again if I fly into San Jose and would highly recommend it.

Best Service
We loved staying here! The only thing that needs to change is the temperature of the pool water. It was freezing! That was a bummer because when one is in a hot and sunny place one wants to...go in the beautiful pool! I wrote the hotel a letter and said I understand that electricity is expensive in Costa Rica so why not heat the pool, jacuzzi and saunna by installing a few solar panels. Let’s hope they do, because everything else was perfect!
