Heraklion International Airport (HER): Approximate driving time to the Kosta Mare Palace Resort & Spa is 25 minutes and the distance is 22 kilometres (13miles).

Taxis are readily available from the airport arrival terminal and cost approximately €26 to get to the hotel. Public buses also serve the area and cost approximately €2.50.

Driving directions: From the airport, take the new National Road in the direction of Agios Nikolaos. Drive for 15 kilometres and take the exit for Kato Gouves. Follow the road round to the right onto the old National Road and drive past Kato Gouves and the Analipsi resort. After one more kilometre, turn left onto the road running parallel to the main road. Drive for another 800 metres and turn left again. Follow the road until you see the Kosta Mare Palace with the car park on the left hand side.

To explore the island, there is an extensive public bus network connecting the main towns and villages; but to reach the more rugged parts, car hire is recommended.
