Fantastic Business Hotel with Easy Access to the Metro

Loved my stay here. Free indoor parking was a delight. Very easy access to the Metro, orange line, which was one block away from the hotel. The room was spacious and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The surrounding area was pretty dismal, but if you need a reasonably priced place to stay with easy access to DC, the hotel would be great for you.

Dunn Loring

Good - Close to Dunn Loring Metro Stop, breakfast included, extremely friendly and helpful staff, free gated parking, modern/comfortable rooms, great sitting areas in lobby. Bad - It’s not downtown DC

Great Stay

Hotel was great. Added the breakfast buffet to the reservation and it was well worth the cost. Rooms were recently update I think and bed was comfortable. Best thing was how close the Metro Station was to hotel. Would recommend for anyone on site seeing trip to D.C. area.

Dining options within 15 minute drive are pretty good but take your GPS as streets are a little confusing.

Great hotel, great perks, not close to D.C. highlights or anything else

This hotel is ideal as far as the hotel staff, amenities, cleanliness and the breakfast buffet is spectacular. If you are lucky enough to get free breakfast buffet included with your reservation (it seemed that not all guests of the hotel automatically get this feature) you will be pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was outstanding from selection to quality it was top notch. Now the downside is that although this hotel is about 2 blocks from the Merrifield/ Vienna Fairfax Train Station, if you are using this hotel for D.C. highlights be aware that its a pretty long ride away. The train can be very full during rush, weekends and it gets a little annoying to be squeezed for a 35 minute ride to your hotel from D.C. If you don’t mind taking a while to get to where you are going and back then this hotel will do just fine. Also be aware that there are just about no options for entertainment or dining nearby. The closest shopping center is a good 15 minute walk away. And the train station is about 2 yards away. Its not as closeby when you are hauling luggage (if you use the train to get there like we did). The hotel does not have any shuttle service to DCA but they will set up a private car for you to the airport for about $45 for 2 people. Again another downfall on the distance, especially if you are going to the airport at an hour the train is not running like we did.

There is a great restaurant nearby called "Four Sisters", its a must try, affordable and excellent quality food!! In the same shopping center there is a Cold Stone Creamery, yum yum!!

Great deal close to metro to Washington DC

Nice facilities, very convenient to the metro which brings you to DC and the shuttle to & from the airport. Hotel is less than 5 years old with parking, free coffee and tea in the lobby. Stores are within walking distance but at least .9 miles away. Staff is very accomodating and pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

Save some $ by staying a bit further away from DC. Take the metro and avoid traffic.

Great location, easy to find. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet is an excellent way to start your day. Limited pool hours were the only downside. Staff was very cordial and helpful with any questions that we had. Metro station is only about 200 yards from the door and is one of the best ways to get around the D.C. area. Close to the malls [about 3-5 miles away] and many places to eat nearby. We will definately return here our next time in the greater D.C. area. An A+ hotel without paying the A+ prices!

Very close to both malls, the galleria mall is more upscale of the two. The Tysons corner mall is slightly closer and more suited to families. If going into D.C. use the metro as it’s only about 200 yards from the hotel. This is the best way to travel into D.C. hands down! If staying for more than a few days [more than 3], get an unlimited metro pass. Be prepared for a lot of walking if going to all the museums and historic sites around the city.

Roomy room, quiet space

We stayed here with 3 grandkids. The room was large and clean, and had plenty of pillows. We had a roll-away delivered and they were really prompt and pleasant about that. The hotel is across the street from a metro station, and down the street from plenty of good restaurants and some groceries. The pool area is pretty small, but the water was warm enough, the jacuzzi worked, and there is a lifeguard on duty. They seemed really relaxed about things like when my granddaughters went upstairs with their pool towels, or went downstairs and got their own coffee in the morning. The metro ride to the mall is sort of long (40 minutes?), but we used the time to plan our day.

Great location, good hotel

The hotel was clean and had a decent sized room. The price was very reasonable for being in the DC area and had no parking fee. Physical location for the hotel is ok, but it has the huge benefit of being walking distance (i.e. 2 blocks) from the Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metro stop. If you’re touring the city, staying on the Metro is a must as it saves all sorts of hassles and fees when trying to go into Washington.

The proximity to the Metro is huge. You can park at the hotel without incurring parking fees and just walk to the Metro stop.

Good hotel

Nice hotel. I chose it because of proximity to Metro. It was close, but rather not across the road, as was indicated in the description, but across the parking lot. Still very close. Breakfast buffet is very good. However, I thought, it was included in the price, but it appeared that breakfast is on your own.

Nice newer property

This is a fairly new property (as of 2009), and as such the facilities are in excellent condition. The staff was knowledgeable and alert. The hotel is one block from a Metro station, making it a good base for business or leisure activities throughout the D.C. area. The only downside -- few restaurants (fast food or otherwise) were observed within walking distance or a short cab ride.

This hotel had excellent rates for weeknight stays. But when the stay was extended into the weekend, the higher rate was applied for all days. So book a shorter stay, or see if an Expedia rep can help you overcome this unusual pricing strategy.

Will book again!

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Marriott & we will stay here again. It was very nice & I highly recommend this hotel because of the cleanliness, excellent staff and reasonable rates. It was easy to get to Washington DC on the Metro. Additional surprise, free parking. Do not pass this deal up!

The Hotel was fine, bummer that there are no restaurants within walking distance.

Excellent Stay

This hotel lives up to all the "perfect" expectations a person can ask for!!! (Room, Hotel Service/Staff, Breakfast Buffet, Clean, etc.)

Convenient, Affordable, Comfortable

I was visiting the D.C. area and was not renting a car. This hotel is right across the street from the metro. The service was fast, nice and helpful. The room was fine - appreciated the high-speed Internet but wi-fi in the room would have been nice. But not a complaint. The place was very clean. The 24-hour store was nice to have. It was a bit of a walk to the nearest places to eat - and the lack proper sidewalks or signals made it awkward, but not unsafe. The front desk had some local order-in menus (pizza, Japanese, etc.), which was nice.

Terrific value, great starting point for touring D.C.

The metro is a short walk, very doable with young kids. If you think the walk is too far, you are probably not fit enough to walk through museums all day. We had one incident with an unfriendly staff member, but the next day that person was much better. I suspect management spoke with that staff member. Pool was small and chilly.

High Value hotel option on edge of DC

Being outside of DC via a 20 minute metro ride - the price was excellent. Would definitely stay here again when I am in need of a high valued hotel in the DC area.

Perfect Location

Hotel has great location, right across the steet from Metro Station and less than 1/2 hour Metro ride to all D.C. Sights. Also close to a number of resturants for those late night dinners after a day of sightseeing. Front desk staff was very helpful and had preprined direction cards to important locations and highways. I will be back to this hotel again!!!!!

Great place to stay!

This hotel is a great place to stay if you want to visit DC, but stay outside the city. The Metro is walking distacance from the hotel. The staff was very helpful and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Perfect for DC touring

The hotel was right outside of the Metro subway system, which is the reason why I chose this place. It was absolutely convenient to step off the orange line and go right back to your hotel. The service was 100% amazingly pleasant. They provided a list of closeby restaurants and had internet access. Only improvements would have been a microwave availability in the room and also wireless rather than an ethernet connection. I would definitely stay here again any day.

The hotel is far enough from DC that it is affordable, yet close to the metro so it does not feel far. It takes about 20 mins to get to the Smithsonian stop, which drops you off at the heart of it.
