Hit or miss it was a HIT

Seems like there are a range of reviews on the Anabella that must be based on which room you’re assigned and what days you stay. We were there mid-week in one of the Premiere King/double rooms. The experience was wonderful. The little alcove with the double bed made my daughter feel like she had an area separate from my wife and myself. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The "internet breakfast bonus" can seem like a drag to eat the same thing if you are staying for a number of days, but the staff let us apply a credit amount to any menu item so we got all the variety we needed. The location was perfect for Disneyland when you use the hint left by another traveller of going through the Grand Californian. The walk wasn’t bad for us, but after long day at Disneyland any walk can seem like a marathon. We’ve stayed at other hotels surrounding the park (the Sheraton, Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, and Courtyard in the past (based on best deal)), but agree that we will return to the Anabella.

Must Try

We were very impressed, definately would go back! The staff was Super nice and helpful. The comfort of our room and the space of our room was incredible... The one thing we would change next time would be, we would get an upstairs room or ensure that there are no kids staying above us. Disneyland is a short walk away which is also a bonus.

Don’t believe the pictures you see online!!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with my hotel stay at The Annabella. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures did online. The room was about as big as a shoebox. Our room was not cleaned 2 days in a row, infact we had to call and complain about that. It seemed like everone on our floor was having difficulty with there locks (ie: not being able to get into your room.) Having to sit outside in the cold for 15 or 20 minutes while we waited for maintenance to try to fix the lock. I just feel like the hotel really misrepresents themselves online. As stated previously, dont believe the pictures you see. And I would definitly recommend staying elsewhere.

Spend the extra $$$ and stay at Disney’s Hotels.

This motel was okay. The pictures are VERY misleading in that the room we stayed in wasn’t as nice as pictured. The room layout was the same, but the room had a very sterile hospital like feel to it. Also, we had a room downstairs and you could hear EVERYTHING going on outside (cars driving by, people walking by, doors shutting etc.) as well as the people up stairs. They got up at about 6am and we were trying to sleep in, but were unable to as we could everything going on upstairs. I was trying to save a few $$$ and stay here. BUT, it isn’t worth it. I have stayed at the Disneyland Hotels and let me tell you, worth the money. But, this place is okay for the price. You get what you pay for.

One thing that is amazing is the Discovery Kids Children’s Museum. (Starbucks is right down the street from this place)

Not Impressed

Smaller rooms than what we normally stay in. DO NOT like the fact they charge you for parking and you can’t even get a parking space near your room. We have stayed at several of the properties close to the park and have never been charged for parking.

Went for birthday with girl friend and was perfect

It was all around enjoyable stay, with a great bar and restaurant. Only about a eight minute walk to the Disney Gates which was super easy. The room itself was clean and had lots of space. I would stay there again for sure.

Would definitely return

Annabella is a wonderful hotel to stay at, especially if you have children. There is a separate room; it’s small but it has its own door. The room is smaller than it appears in pictures but what hotel room isn’t? The other great thing is you receive two breakfast coupons that you can apply to the in house Tangerine Restaurant. It is not your usual continental donuts and coffee. They make an amazing chilies quiles and quevos rancheros. If it exceeds the coupon amount you just pay the difference. It’s not as close as I thought. You have to walk about 3 large city blocks, cut through California Hotel, then through Disney Downtown. But I will always choose Annabella for all my future visits. Note there is $10 charge for overnight parking but that’s not too shabby compared to other hotels.

Could have been great....

The location and room itself were good, the staff ignores the guests like a necessary evil. We had a severley plugged bath tub, they fixed it to a slow drain instead of a total plug. Thenwe asked for coffee, to be brought up since the maid forgot it the day before. We were told no one was available to come up, it would take an hour and a half!. 10minutes later, the bill showed up under the door. Someone had time to come by the room. Since we left, we have called three times to get a camera charger cord returned, but they can’t even return the phone call! I will buy a new cord, and take them off my list of hospitable hotels!

Great Resort-type Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the Anabella Hotel. It was located very close to Disneyland, within walking distance, and close to several restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the property was very nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Tiffy’s Restaurant, right next door, had great food at a very reasonable prices. They are known for their ice cream, which was fabulous!

It was awesome. We will definitely return to the Anabella eveytime.

We were a large party and had 4 rooms. We didn’t know what to expect. We had never been there. The rooms looked new. We really liked how the beds were separated by a wall. It gave a little privacy and there was plenty of room for the kids. The restaurant was incredible. The food was so delicious. I highly recommend it for families. Plus it is directly across the street from Disneyland. You can’t get better than that and the price was really reasonable.

Better Than Expected

This hotel is definitely beautiful on the outside, but the rooms could definitely do with a little fixing up. The bathroom especially was a problem. I was pleased with the service though when we asked to switch rooms because of noisy kids (you could literally hear every word they said). And we were actually upgraded to a nicer room on the top floor, so that in itself would cause me to go back. Plus it is really close to the park, contrary to what other people have said. About as close as you can get without staying in one of the Disneyland Resorts, but who can afford that? So if you are looking for a fairly nice, inexpensive hotel close to Disneyland, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We will stay at this hotel again!

The hotel made the walk to Disneyland easy and safe. The rooms were clean and open with ample room and you don’t get that cramped feeling while the family is getting ready to go out. I was very pleased with just about every aspect of this hotel. The only slight inconvenience was finding a parking stall upon our arrival. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes "nice", "fresh", and "clean" for a good price!

Only ok

The room was nice and the location was good but they nickel and dimed you. I did not know there was a $10 parking charge which would have changed my decision to stay there. The room was nice but it was cold and when we turned on the heat the fire alarm went off and our room was filled with a bad smell for some time. We went to the complimentary breakfast and we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated we were not spoken to for at least 30 minutes and it took us over and hour to finally get food. It was the manager that finally helped get us served but we still waited a rediculous amount of time. We also did not receive the correct order. The delays made us late for our plans that morning which was the reason we stayed in a hotel instead of driving an hour from our home.

Near Disneyland hotel has positives and negatives

Overall a positive experience. Check in was smooth and very convenient. The concierge and front desk was very friendly and helpful. Was allowed to check in early. The room (Mission Suite) was in good condition. Very clean and odor free. Nice hard wood floors. The bed was comfortable not the best but good. The tv was tiny and old. There was another room and me brining my child it was nice to have. The problem with the other room is the door would not stay open. And the bed was old and uncomfortable. It squeaked at every move and was one of the worst beds I ever had at a hotel. The tv in this room was small but at least modern. The area is right across the street from Disneyland. The worst part of the trip was my meal at the Tangerine Bar & Grill. The host there ignored my family and I. And showed other’s there more attention. Was very rude. Told the manager there and she could care less. The wait staff is good though. But don’t waste your time going there. Coco’s is 1 minute away and has better more competent staff. Check out was easy and the front desk staff once agin was very nice.

Our Disney Secret

We love staying at the Anabella. Not only is it a nice place to stay, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to Disneyland. Still trying to understand the charge for parking if we are already paying to stay at the hotel?

Don’t buy the breakfast!

Everything about the hotel was fine ... except the breakfast included. DON’T BUY IT. While all the other guests are enjoying a fine brunch, you’re limited to eggs and potatoes. Very disappointing.

Nice Hotel for Kids

We recently stayed in the hotel Annabella. We picked this place because it was close to Disneyland and they took small dogs. Well, the small dog fee is $100 and they say this is to cover steam cleaning the carpet after the dog leaves. When we arrived at the hotel they tried to give me a room with 2 doubles instead of two queens like I thought that I was getting. They did give me the queens, but the room was also 100% hard wood floors and had dog hair in all the corners of the room. So, there goes the statement "$100 for steam cleaning carpet". Obviously this was a room that was used for dogs, which is fine with me but I can do without the extra dog hair. We didn’t say anything to the hotel because I figured we would say something when we left. Which I idid and they didn’t care about it at all. That was the only downside to the hotel for me and my kids. We felt safe there and the pool was nice, we would stay there again.

Not impressed

Was to receive free breakfast coupons with the room. Did not receive them at check in, we had to go back to ask for them before they gave them to us.

Don’t stay on the ground level!

Room was great for the price - very convenient to anywhere in Anaheim. However, I was unaware that vehicles parked right outside the room entrances. First night I was woken up at 3 AM when a very loud car parked outside my window and the passengers disembarked laughing and yelling. Okay - it happens but on night two a HUGE truck parked backed in outside my room - the bumper overhung the sidewalk a good four feet and shoved an enormous oversided decorative planter of flowers into the front wall of my room. Very nerve wracking. The hotel and staff were great - the price was right - just make sure you do not have a ground level room!

Great location, nice price next to Disneyland

This hotel was within walking distance to the Disneyland Resort. It had spacious rooms and the price was very comparable. The beds were uncomfortable for my taste. The facilities provided were great, the landscaping and grounds of the hotel were kept really nice. Also, the restaurant on-site had great room service as well as a patio with great service. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will probably stay there again.

More than expected

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful upon our (late) arrival. The grounds were very well kept and the location was great. I was surprised at the size, cleanliness, and comfort of the room. The beds were amazing, plantation shutters on the windows, no dingy drapes, wood floors, no musty carpet, and granite showers! We liked it so much we’re returning in November!

Great place to stay!

This hotel worked out perfect for my husband and I and two little ones (4 and 2 year olds). We had the Casita Suite, which is great because it has a small bedroom off the main room with its own TV, so the little ones could watch cartoons in the morning, while my husband and I watched something else. We also ordered room service one night, which came quickly and was delicious. The walk to Disneyland was very easy and we felt very safe, even at midnight. We will definately stay again.

good location - clean room

Great location, got to location 2hrs before check-in said we could check-in and they wouldn’t even charge an early check-in fee. Had to provide proof that breakfast vouchers were included, had to return to office later for vouchers, they had to get them approved. Then they made up their cost for them by informing us of the $10.00 a day parking fee (not listed on their website). Rooms were clean but not at all what the pictures on their website show, felt like we were totally downgraded from the pictures. Would recommend for location and clean room, but not what was expected, would never pay listed price for room.
