Disappointed
I stayed at the Comfort Inn to attend a concert at Tanglewood. I was surprised to note the small rooms and cramped lobby/breakfast area, particularly in Pittsfield. The hotel was mostly full and the staff seemed overwhelmed: ran out of items at breakfast (even coffee!), room requests ignored, overheard at least three other groups of patrons displeased with lost/misrecorded reservations. I’d have to agree with other reviewers who raised concerns about room condition: sheet ill-fitting; housekeeping failed to replace towels; air conditioner worked intermittently; shower curtain rod broken. The staff was pleasant (also noted by other reviewers), but given the price and proximity of several other hotels, until these upkeep and staffing issues are remedied, I will neither return nor recommend readers make reservations at this hotel.

Ok stay
Room is clean. Service and breakfast is OK, nothing to rave about. Our bathroom door would not close. The room door slams loudly, and you can hear other doors closing in the middle of the night. For the rate we paid, I would try something else next time.

Jonathan’s Bistro and next to it - Chocolate Spring Cafe is great.

Need to be Clean
The most basic needs for me in a hotel are safety and cleanliness. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful, the location was good, the room was comfortable... but all of that is overshadowed by a room that was not as clean as it should have been. There was the used washcloth still hanging on the shower rod, hair in the shower, toothpaste on the mirror, some black smudges on the wall and door in the bathroom, a sticky stain in the nightstand drawer... the list goes on. I wouldn’t have been half as irritated if there hadn’t been envelope left by the housekeeper demanding her tip. I do not think I would stay there again given a choice.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The Norman Rockwell Museum was fantastic. Most of us have seen picturs of his work in one place or another, or are at least familiar with the Post covers. To see the real thing was truly amazing. Easy to get to and inexpensive- well worth stopping by. Jimmy’s Restaurant had some great Italian food. Not a fancy place, but we were tired and just needed a good meal; a lucky find indeed.
