Old and in need of renovation, no service
This room was very old, stained carpet, rusted furniture on the patio, chipped fixtures in the bathroom. We stayed 4 nights and did not have our room cleaned, towels or coffee replaced once. The things we did like were the restaurant on the resort was good and had a fun live band. The view from the room was beautiful and the beach was also very nice. We spent a lot of time exploring Destin, and it rained quite a bit, so we didn’t get to try the pool, but it looked very clean and the hot tub seemed to be popular. Overall, I would not recommend the Summit at this resort, though some of the other properties there looked like they may have been much nicer.
Traveler's tip on dining
Dewey Destin Seafood place (didn’t try the new one at the harbor, liked the atmosphere of the original). It’s a little dive, but the food is great! Try the fried shrimp (I’d steer away from any fancy specials and stick with their standards).

WIll become our Spring Break place to stay
This was completly as advertised. Rooms are very nice with all the comforts of home. The resort is on the gulf only a short walk to the beach. They offer a shuttle to the beach anytime you call, we never used it as the walk was only a couple hundred yards. Each building has its own pool, as well as, a large pool with decks and tiki hut for the adults on the beach. Very happy with this vacation turned out to be much better than expected.

Nice location close to Destin
This hotel is off the main strip in Destin, but very close. Beach is clean, not too crowded. Pools are great with convenient snack bar and tiki hut. We would stay here again.
