An Off the Beaten Path Gem
Very comfortable hotel for the budget traveller in a quiet residential neighborhood near the Pere Lachaise cemetery. Extremely accomodating staff who helped me with my fractured French. The room and bathroom were large by European standards, and immaculately kept. The bed was perfect for me - might be a little firm for other tastes. Kitchenette a nice touch. Just a block from Metro Line 2, which connects to just about every other line. Would go back in a heartbeat!!!
Traveler's tip on dining
Take Metro Line 2 to the Blanche stop, which is near the Moulin Rouge. Walk a few blocks towards Place de Clichy and you’ll see Corcoran’s, an Irish Pub. After a long day of trying your best to function in French (and you really should try!), this is an English friendly establishment with staff from Britain, Ireland, the USA, as well as France. The Irish stew is awesome!

Great place for doing Paris on a budget.
Great little hotel just a block or so from the metro station. Kitchenette area made it possible to save money on meals. There are little shops for buying cheese, bread, wine, etc. just around the corner. The only drawback is that the only close tourist attraction is the Pere Lachaise Cemetery. You’ll have to take the metro or the bus everywhere else. The bed was fantastic, big and with a nice hard mattress.
