great value, convenient location

This hotel is within easy driving/walking distance of nightlife and shopping. We happened to arrive around midnight, so we were able to find plenty of on-street parking right outside, thereby avoiding the $12 garage fee. As others have said, this hotel isn’t what you’d call fancy or luxurious, but in my opinion, the only reason to get a hotel is to have a safe, clean, quiet place to sleep and shower when you’re not out and about, taking in the tourist attractions. We were very pleased by our room, and the front desk people were very nice. In short, we would gladly come back.

In the Capitol Hill neighborhood, we highly recommend Liberty Bar for coffee and alcoholic beverages and Chez Gaudy for lunch and dinner. For sushi in the Lake Union neighborhood, we like I Love Sushi.

Great location, helpful staff

The desk staff was incredibly helpful in providing information about restaurants, night spots and general attractions for my companion and me. I also accidently made the reservation for the wrong dates and they were quick to assist in fixing my error even though it was mine.

Ramada

This hotel is nice and very old but they definitely need to make some major upgrades. To be located downtown Seattle and be next to some of the most high class hotels one would think they would be more up to date with their layout. If you just want a place to sleep and relax, this is your choice but if you expect more this is not for you. The rooms itself are very clean, but bathroom shower was clogged and very tiny if you are on the taller end.

Not so great.

For the price - it’s only amenity was location. The rooms were okay in size - bathroom crampted. No other amenities in room except TV. The parking fee was the cheapest around but still not great. We would not stay here again.

Had a different image of Ramada than I experienced.

Impression started with the front desk attendant with the rolled up sleeves looking at me like I was a bother to him to greet. He only gave a ’got to greet the guest’ greeting after I gave him a greet. The room was not spacious at all with the furniture making it almost impossible to move around. The linens, bed and bath, were not neatly presented and showed wear and tear and heavy use. The HVAC system was noisy and had a slow condensation leak which presented a dripping faucet sound. The curtains did not close tightly and the HVAC system kept blowing them around allowing light in the room. And then finally the paid parking for guests and competition with day use parking customers. Is Ramada in the parking business or the hotel business?

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Go to the Sheraton downtown or the Silver Cloud just east of downtown on Capital Hill to get a better bang for your lodging dollar.

Tough call about whether to return

The positives: best price, great location, friendly/helpful front desk staff. The negatives: Housekeeping often didn’t supply fresh towels or cups so we would have to get them ourselves. Carpet in one room was so dirty, we kept a washcloth on the nightstand for frequent wiping of blackened feet. Air conditioner barely worked when it was 90+ outside. We would return but only because the price was affordable compared to surrounding hotels.

I’d go back

Other than the maid who could not count to three when putting towels in the room, all else was great. Front dest personel were excellent and cooperative.

Great Location

The only really good thing I can say about my stay was that it was a great location, no more than 5 minutes from the mall and walking distance to Pikes Place. I didnt enjoy having to pay for the parking each day. Overall, I would probably not revisit this hotel.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If your planning on not being in the room much, this is a great hotel.

Small and dingy

Adequate, but barely so. Old and dingy in appearance. Room was small and lacked electrical outlets and WiFi. Parking lot was very cramped with tiny space. Elevator was very slow and non-responsive.

Nice hotel

The best thing about the Ramada is that it is equidistant from the downtown area and the Space Needle/Seattle Center area. Rooms were neat and clean. It was hard to communicate with the service staff, though, because they did not know English well.

Traveler's tip on dining

Right next door to the hotel is a great restaurant called Top Pot Doughnuts. Probably one of the best doughnuts I’ve eaten (and I love my doughnuts!). It also has nice sandwiches and free WiFi. The walls are also floor-to-ceiling bookshelves packed with books, so it’s a nice place to hang out.

Dont waste your money!!

The hotel smelled horrible when you entered and even worse in the room. The receptionist put a 20 dollar hold on our credit card which we later were told was for the public parking that is on site. Worst part is we didnt even bring a car. Other than the fact it was only 2 miles from the baseball stadium, it was not worth the money.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Saving 15 dollars by using this hotel is soo not worth it. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra to stay somewhere half decent.

Good Local

Older hotel that has been remodeled. Excellent location to Pike Street. Within walking distance of many sites. Nothing fancy. Small room but adequate for a one night stay.

inexpensive basics

Room was clean and furnished with basic essentials. Bathroom tiny, cracks around shower drain, shower head not firmly attached to wall, large area of black stuff around sink faucet (mold?) Elevator floors sticky with spilled liquid for at least 12 hours. Cheap lodgings for someone who just wants a place to crash overnight.

Great location

Stayed for 2 nights in Seattle. The location was great and within walking distance to the mall and Pike Street Market. There is a grocery/wine/deli store just up the street about a couple of blocks if there is anything you need and a donut shop across the street. I believe there was a corner cafe down the block. Did not like the idea of having to pay for parking at the hotel but it sure beats finding a spot in downtown Seattle and having to pay more. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. Not exactly a place for romance, but if you’re looking for a nice place to stay and spending the day sight seeing, this is the place for the money.
