Hotel for Madrid
If youre looking for a great looking hotel at a great deal, then this a terrific hotel. However, if youre looking for a place to stay that is near the heart of Madrid, this is definitely not the place. There is NOTHING around this hotel, and even finding a place to eat outside the hotel is tough. Many of them are smaller places that dont seem all too lively. The hotel itself seems to be a popular hot-spot; its restaurant (seats maybe 40 ppl?) is packed - so definitely make reservations if you want to eat there during your stay. They have an outside eating area which also gets packed also (starting 9pm an on). They have a great looking outdoor bar, which doesnt seem to get crowded until about midnight. The service is pretty good - although they are terrible about accommodating early checkins - just dont count on it! I think the hotel does well for its novelty, but its not for the metropolitan traveler who wants instant access to the city of Madrid. Its about a 10 minute cab ride during non-rush hours (13 Euros / $25 USD). Definitely too far to walk, unless youre desperate.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
There is not much around here. I walked about a 5 block radius around the hotel, and there are no shops worth looking at, no restaurants that seem to be a local favorite, and is a mainly residential area.
