Superb Rooms
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Mercure Grand Seef. The rooms were large, well furnished, sparking clean and comfortable. Good location as it is next to the big SEEF Shopping Mall. My only gripe is one particular Reception Manager. Everyday she kept saying that they did not any info from Expedia that I paid for my stay. I even had to bring my laptop to the reception counter to show the Expedia acknowledgement letter. She spoilt my stay.

The perfect business hotel for Bahraini travelers
After reading the reviews here and elsewhere, I was expecting a slightly grungy and perhaps seedy spot. That was not the case at all. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and everyone was polite and prompt. The second floor bar is not the most happening spot in town (think Karaoke and depressed expats), but for that you can go to the Ritz. This is not a glamorous place, but its perfect for a business traveler. (The wireless is not free, btw, it costs about $100 for a weekly pass, but it was reliable and fast.)
Traveler's tip for business travelers
The Mercure is 5 minutes by taxi to the Ritz Carlton, and there is no reason that you cant stay at the Mercure, but use the Ritz as your base of operations (for meetings during the day in the lobby), food/drinks meetings at night at the Ritzs two restaurant/lounges, or just relaxing by the Ritzs pool. Youll save thousands and only incur the extra expense/hassle or a $10 cab ride.
