Would stay again

The overall quality, ammenities, and cleanliness was above satisfactory. I would reserve a room there again if I have to stay in the Tacoma area again.

Great Hotel

Great hotel! Close to numerous restaurants. Great beds with pillow-top matresses - slept well both nights. Really good continental breakfast with waffle bar. Swimming pool open 24 hours a day. What more could you ask for!

Easy to get to from the highway.

Run Down

The facility was porlly maintained given the price of the room. I have had better success with other hotels in the area for the same money. The front door was rough to open, worn carpets the had some smell and the room smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking room.

So So....

The Shilo Inn was promoted as a 3 star/diamond hotel, but did not live up to that standard. The counter staff were not all that great, and there were bleach stains in hallway carpets. The hotel’s one elevator did not function the second day of our stay, so we were awakened early by the ruccus of housekeeping staff hauling their cleaning carts up the stairs. We will be staying in another area hotel which was rated lower on the star/diamond scale in our future frequent visits to Tacoma. That other hotel seemed to exceed Shilo Inn’s quality for the same price.

Very Nice

We were there for only one night, the hotel is in a good neighborhood with no less then 6 o 7 restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast area was rather crowded and the good food went fast but they did continue to refil. The only issue was when I checked in the front dest was empty and only had one desk clerk so it was a slow process. There were other employees there but they passed through to the office and closed the door.

The accommodations were great: the pool, jacuzzi, wet and dry sauna, and the morning breakfast-all were fabulous. Freeway noise was a little annoying.

Nice, clean accomodations

Compared to the other hotels we have recently stayed in, Shilo was clean, neat, and pleasent. The rates were reasonable and the breakfast was sufficient.

Stayed there before would do it again.

We have stayed there two years now when my daughter goes to compete at the State Fair. The Staff is extremely friendly and courteous. I like the fact that the pool and spa are open around the clock. The location is great only 15 minutes from the fair and there are three places to eat right across the street. The only real draw back is that thers is a lot of freeway noise if in a room on the back side of the building.

Best nights sleep

The bed was soft and comfortable, the pillows were fluffy and I had no problem getting extras. The pool was clean and just the right temperature. They even served fresh baked cookies for desert. The shower was clean. The room had a microwave and a little fridge, worked out perfect with the kids.

Just OK

Hotel is clean but rundown and staff is friendly. Only negatives were they forgot to clean our room and never apoligized. Also were very stingy with breakfast and free popcorn and cookies we were told they offered.

The hotel was a convenient place for the family to stay. It was clean, and the kids enjoyed the continental breakfast and the pool.

Very good, especially for the rate. A mid-level hotel,pleasant, met my expectations, especialy for the rate those days.

24-hour Pool - Greatest asset

We stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding in Tacoma. It was a nice place, the beds were fine and the continental breakfast was better than I had expected. Make your own waffles, yogurt, cold cereal, breakfast sandwiches to heat up in microwave, fresh fruit, and muffins. The kids loved the pool the best, open all the time, anytime they were there to use it.

24-hour Pool - Greatest asset

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Got a great rate on Expedia. The 24-hour pool was the greatest reason we chose to stay there. We were not disappointed. We went to Tacoma for a family wedding and never knew what time we would get back to the hotel. It was always open for the kids to get worn out in and sleep well. The continental breakfast was better than the internet advertised. We could make our own waffles and they had fruit and yogurt, plus cereal and breakfast sandwiches to heat up in the microwave. There was not really a place to sit and eat it though, other than a couch or too in the lobby. We took it back to our room and ate it there. The beds were fine.

If your kids love swimming, this is the place.

not impressed

We will never stop and stay there again. The service was very bad. We had to call the office everyday to get towels, coffee and to get our garbage picked up. We always stay at a Shilo Inn but now I’m not sure if I will again!

A friendly place to stay

Love the 24/7 indoor pool and exercise room.

Great staff but mediocre facility.

The staff was great! Very friendly and helpful. While were were there the elevator kept breaking down and we were stuck for awhile. This really presented a problem since my father is disabled and could not take the stairs. The mattresses are old and sagging, but the rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Good free internet service. The pool and hot tub were great.

The hotel was close to shopping and resteraunts. Easy interstate access. Very clean and nice for an older hotel.
