a lot to be desired
Hotel was an older unit, decor was dated. Sliding glass doors were off the track and could not be fixed. Maintenance came and said they would recommend replacement to the owner.

The elevator was awful! It smelled like it had been used for a bathroom and had been cleaned and then smelled like a public bath all in one. We used the stairs the whole time. The top balcony was full of bird droppings, unusable. The mildew on the screen door was disgusting. no thanks, not again.

Not as Expected
From the brochure, I expected an oceanside hotel. What we actually got was a villa set back off of the beach. You could see the ocean, barely. The villa was quiet and peaceful. The furnishings were adequate, but not the best. Also - note that this resort is set on the far northern end of the Isle. This adds about ten minutes more travel from the other hotels on the island.

Comment from the hotel's management
Posted: 31-Mar-09All our properties are individually owned and decorated villas, and are located behind the dune line, a minimum of 25 yards from the beach to protect the dunes and natural environment. In the past, the verbiage in the room description did list our properties as “oceanfront”; we have just requested that verbiage be changed to “ocean area”, which is more accurate, as there are some buildings further from the beach than others. Their referral to a “brochure” and expectations of a hotel also indicate they may have initially had us mixed up with another company...all our information does indicate our properties are villas. Also, though there is not “nightlife” within walking distance of where their villa was located, there are several restaurants/bars just a few miles away which feature entertainment in the evenings.
