Lovely Hotel, Lovely Food, pity about the food.
We had an extremely pleasant stay in the hotel. From the very beginning we felt welcomed and cared for. The Hotel itself was very nice. Our first meal in the Japanese Restaurant was good. However, when we tried the American BBQ styled restaurant it was dissapointing. It lacked atmosphere and the food was very average. I would add that despite the food and restaurant not meeting the same standards as the rest of the Hotel, the restaurant staff were still very good.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
This is an isolated Hotel, in a good way, but you will need a rental car with a GPS. Aside from the manufactured tourist spots there are some wonderful old castle ruins to see and other sites to visit such as a waterfall along a 40 minute hike.

Was beautiful I wish we could have stayed here the whole time. Go here. Also they drove me free of charge to and from another hotel to get my nails done because their salon was full! Two of the pools were cold but there were so many it didn’t matter besides their studio and gym and indoor pool....
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
I hope you like fish its tough to eat vegetarian! I lost weight on the trip. Also, for renting a car you probably get a japanese speaking GPS. This worked out fine for us. Ask people to program it for you when you need to go somewhere and make sure you ask how to say "left" and "right" and you’re set.
