Property Lost and few compensation

We arrived in the morning. An Indian guy checked us in and gave us keys to room 415. The room is small and the carpet is not very clean. We went out for the Golden Gate. And when we came back, we found the light was on,and our bag is moved. Our GPS and 4 chargers and a very fine quality shaver, which we all put into a plastic bag were gone! The manager told us that in the system the Indian guy checked us to room 218, while he gave us the key to room 415. and that afternoon, he checked the other couple to room 415, who went into the room, and probably didn’t lock the door properly. The manager who called Laura was helpful, and agreed to compensate us the next morning, after a couple of hours wait for the "owner". Our lost worth $920 totally, without counting the cable and flash-memory. However, she has the right up to only $750. So she issued a cheque of $750, and promise to send the rest ($170)to my friend’s address in CA. Now we’ve come back home for more than 10 days, but my friend has not received the rest part of the money. Though we called and emailed several times, there was no person replying. How disappointed! and we’d never choose Super8 again. and maybe never go to San Fransico again!

Best affordable place in downtown San Francisco

The hotel is very convenient to walk to downtown and public transportation to get anywhere around the city. The rooms are very small, only a double bed for me and my daughter, but it was comfortable. We had our own bathroom with a shower. There was free wireless internet, as all Super 8s we’ve been to so far. There was also a nice Continental breakfast on the 6th floor. We called a van at the airport, which took us right to the hotel. There’s a link on the hotel’s internet site to call a 1-800 number for a slightly more inexpensive van. It’s in Union Square, but maybe also Japantown, with great Japanese restaurant all around. I would definitely stay there again--clean, convenient, breakfast included.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Take the F trolley in the middle of Market Street, near Powell St. to get to Fisherman’s Wharf, about 1/2 hour away. It’s about a 10 minute walk down the hill to catch it. There’s a long line to take the historic Cable Cars at Powell and Market. Get there early.

Avoid this hotel, evitate questo albergo

Don’t stay in this hotel!! Non pernottate qua!! Nicht hier buchen!! The staff is rude (the blonde lady/manager is the worst!) The lcation seems great but it is very dangerous!! Internet connection is not working. The room is very dirty, sloppy and old!!! You will not sleep!! There is music till 2am!
