We always stay there

Every year my family and I stay there to watch the best fire works. The staff moved us to a room where we could watch them from our own private balcony. Which we decided to take the long 3 block walk instead. Dont make the mistake and try any other restaurant in town eat at the hotel better food for the same price.

Not impressed

No free internet? No flat screen TV? Whats up with that? Rooms were ok, but are deparately in need of a remodel. AC did not really work very well. Funtiture was showing a lot of wear and the television armoir - with a very old CRT TV - was broken. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. If it weren’t for them I would have check out after the first night. Easy highway access.

If you have the choice. For the money, stay somewhere nicer.

OK for the price!

The hotel was quite comfortable. Lot’s of things within walking distance as far as shopping and restaurants. The room could use a little updating. Things are looking a little old and tired. But the room was very comfortable. I will definitely return.

If you’re in Sacramento, this is across the street from Arden Fair Mall. Plenty of good stores and restaurants.

Not a good experience.

Two nights in a row the fire alarm went off between 4 and 4:30 in the morning. The first time it went off we called the front desk to see if we needed to leave after we did not see or smell anything to indicate a fire. We were told that they did not know what was happening and would call us back. Never happened. Try going back to sleep after being awoken by a fire alarm in a hotel. It does not happen easily. The second night it starts all over again. When we go to check out we talk to the manager who was less than helpful. He stated they still had no idea as to what happened and went on to tell us that once the alarm had gone off, anything further that happened was up to us and not their concern. He was less than helpful and his lack of concern made an unpleasant event all the worse. This was suppose to be part of a relaxing birthday weekend away from work and kids but the relaxing portion was pretty much destroyed things to what happened.

There is no shortage of hotels in Sacramento. Pick another place that is more receptive to concerns of their guests.

A great place to stay

I took 3 kids and myself to the CA. State Fair in Sacramento and stayed at the Doubletree Inn Sacramento. The hotel shuttled us over to the fair no charge, fed us a great breakfast buffet every morning, the pool was open until 11:30 pm.; they had 3 free internet access computers for guests to use, an awesome state of the art gym, and the location of the hotel was the best. We had such a good time I will definitely be going back. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the price is so worth it. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.

Very friendly

This was a very friendly and clean hotel. The staff was always smiling, very helpful and it was a pleasure to stay in such a nice, friendly atmosphere. We will definitely stay there again.

NOT impressed

The hotel is old and dirty. Extremely needs a renovation done to the rooms. All other amenities are alright except for the room. It smells old and musty and dirty. Carpet is old and stinks.

Great Updated rooms!!

Although the hotel bar and restaurants are a bit outdated, the rooms more than made up for it. Down pillows, comforters, great bathrooms - very quite and comfortable. Great location across from the mall and good restaurants. We would definitely stay there again...

Nice rooms, poor service...

The rooms were very nice, however it took 3 hours for us to check in them because of the 3 o’clock guarantee time. We flew in from out of town and had to wait around while our room was being prepared. When it was, there was no one to retrieve our bags that we had checked in upon their suggestion. We waited another 15 minutes for that person to come back. The most surprising thing is that there was only one person checking people in on a Saturday afternoon. The line was 10 people deep pretty much all day long.

needs major upgrading

The hotel rooms are a little dated and needs major upgrade. It is definitely not a 3 star hotel as listed and not worth the room price.

Convenient, but tired

This is a very convenient location, and the breakfast buffet was fine, but my room was worn-out, tired and "felt" dirty, even if had been cleaned.

Hotel in need of repair

This hotel is showing its wear. Carpets and bathrooms in need of major repair, shower did not work in my room, carpet stained and holes in the sliding door to the outside. Bed was new and comfortable. Surcharge on Internet makes this a not so friendly hotel for business.

vacation in sacramento

The overall stay at the doubletree was good. The hotel is going through some renovation and some of the rooms looked liked they were rushed over. The staff was very friendly and my stay was enjoyable.

Great Family Place to Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were really close to the mall and restraunts. The warm chocoalate chip cookies were FANTASTIC!

A Bit unclean

I was surprised with how unclean the room was. There were pubic hairs in the soap dish holder and hair left on the sink and the desk and night table had not been wiped clean, they had rings on them from drinks.

Comfortable and quiet

Even though this hotel is in close proximity to the freeway it was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I usually don’t sleep well if it is noisy or bright and never the first night in a new place. I was only there for one night between two days of business meetings slept well and woke rested!

Overpriced

Great hotel, service and room. We thought it was overpriced for the condition that it is. A bit old and our room had a dirty wall.

Only average

I have stayed at hotels in this city which were much better than this one. Exercise room was small. Wireless internet was limited to two desktops in the lobby. The bathroom had a confusing touch- or motion-activated lightswitch that I never figured out after 3 days. On the other hand, parking is free and location is close to Kaiser hospital.

Doesn’t Loof Like The Pictures!

Total disappointment! We were expecting an at least moderately nice hotel It was old, difficult to get around in from one wing to another, old, and not maintained well.

Good for families

Rooms are well designed and roomy, love the two sinks - one inside the bathroom and one outside. This makes so much sense when sharing a room with a husband and two teenage children. Air conditioner was quiet, placed near the ceiling which cooled the room without blasting air and freezing someone while people on the other side of the room were still hot. On the down side, bar was closed downstairs on a Saturday night?? - no place for a large group of us to socialize, blanket was dirty.
