Highlight of our trip

My wife and I wanted to stay in Amalfi overnight on a recent tour of Italy and chose this hotel based on reviews. We were not disappointed. It is in the center of town and easily reached from the large bus stop on the waterfront. The sign is on the building facing the water. Just walk thru the white arch, across the street and on the right just before the square, up a small flight of stairs is the hotel. Is is very clean with a flare of the past. We stayed on the square side facing the church. It was great. It has the location, location. I will stay there again on any return. It would be my choice for any price, but the rates were good to boot.

Go across the street and take a early bus to Ravello just above Amalfi to the Villa Rufalo. Ravello is a unique mountain top village with no cars. It overlooks the coast from the top and was a special treat. it only takes half an hour, It only cost a few euros and there are frequent buses. It is a very special p[lace indeed.

very nice right where you want to be

I was a little concerned that another review said the hotel was noisy-- I think they asked for an ocean view, which menas they are right over the only road on the Amalfi Coast -- = noisy. My room was on the side of the hotel between the bell tower of the cathedral and the ocean-- great, as Amalfi has limited access to cars. Hotel is plain, clean and centrally located with internet in public areas and continental breakfast-- it was just fine and they were very helpful.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take the bus! Then you are not worried about the narrow rodas and you are high enough to enjoy the spectacular views. They are cheap and run very often through the day-- a good bet!

A Great Little Hotel in a Perfect Place

We made reservations online and could not be happier. Some of the reviews you read are from people who seem to expect too much, and are willing to complain about small things. We spend so little time in a room and having traveled in Europe many times, the location of the hotel and the ability of its staff to help you far outweigh the lack of an iron or big showers. This hotel is right on the town piazza and you feel like part of the town. In Amalfi there is much dependence on buses as you shouldn’t drive and the bus station in all directions is a block away. Great breakfast, good people, nice beds...happy tourists.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Go to Ravello for the afternoon. Take the bus to Agerola for a thrill of your life, no roller coaster can match the turns and daring the bus does. Hike the trail from Agerola’s piazza 4 hours to Positano, its moderate in difficulty but the views and solitude are amazing.
