Quiet Mountain Lodge
Very nice lodge with friendly atmosphere. Rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable.

New, comfortable and friendly
Blue Jay is known for their pancakes for breakfast which are -- no exaggeration -- the size of a dinner plate and quite good. All the food was good and not too expensive. It’s not a big hotel, and there is no elevator to the second floor (an issue for me becaues I didn’t want to lug my luggage up steps) but all rooms have balconies or a small terrace (1st fl), the room are new, attractively decorated (not luxuious but quite comfortable with sort of rustic style decorating) with most modern ammenities. I thought the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was modern. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a family run hotel and a lot of locals eat there regularly. The hotel is informal and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again if I happen back this way.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
You’re only about 12 miles from Telluride where they have a free gondola ride: the views are spectacular and it is quite a long ride involving switching tracks at the top to go to the valley and some of the ski resorts.

Telluride’s best kept secret!
This place is a gem in the mountains!! Don’t stay in Telluride--stay here! Affordable and absolutely beautiful. The restaurant has a patio with a view of the mountains. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic (food and service). There is a fenced off area for pets to run and there are hiking and bike trails close by as well as a park for the kids with a lake for fishing. I’m sorry we didn’t get to stay longer.
