Room needed lots of attention...
Peeling wallpaper and paint, water damage, broken light fixtures, a showerhead dangling loosely from its pipe, and the ability to hear everything going on around you- these in-room factors played heavily against the lovely grounds and welcoming office area. There are too many other much more pleasant places to stay in Carmel for the $$$ spent.

not what its made out tobe
The room was small with no carpets. restroom was way too small. walls way to thin and could hear everything ALL night...NOT what I expected it to be. won’t be going back and won’t recommend
Better off staying at monterey which is only a 5 minute drive with way better prices for your budget.

Great Vacation
Small, quiet location, two blocks off Hwy 1. Great for our 40th anniversary getaway. Continental breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy access to restaurants and lots of sites, but feels remote. Bathroom was small with no place to put travel kits. Our room was on the second floor with a porch/deck overlooking a lovely garden with fountain. We would love to go back and stay there for our next visit.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Point Lobos State Reserve is a few minutes away and well worth the visit. Drive in and park. there are several trails to walk with spectacular views of the ocean and wildlife.
