Very clean, good restaurant, clean pool but burning hot sauna (slight burning of sole of feet and hand on handle! All good.

Good Hotel

The hotel was great and the location to the metro was excellent although the hotel was very difficult to find at first. I do not recommend this hotel if it is necessary to drive into downtown Montreal for any reason as it took us about an hour (terrible traffic)to drive 9 KM to our rental car return location and we missed our train.

Satisfied with the location, parking facility and its price

Convenient location for those who do not want to drive into the city, and plan to leave their cars at Longueuil. It makes any day-trip to downtown Montreal very comfortable. Literally next to the Metro station. Free and safe parking facility. Front desk representatives are very nice, efficient and helpful. Will certainly stay at this location or any Sandman hotel(s) at elsewhere.

Friendly people, uncomfortable bed

Towels were cheaply made, bed not comfortable. Staff great.

OK hotel, good location

The room was little bit smelly, and there was a stain on the carpet. But the towels and sheets were clean. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. It was free parking and you could take the subway right across the street, the center city is 2 stops away.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you are driving, park your car at the hotel and take the subway. Also there is a grocery store and fastfood in the sunway station if you are looking for a quick bite.

Great Service

The hotel was right near the subway station (metro), a real plus. The staff was very friendly and quite accomadating. They spoke Englis fluently. They were ready and willing to answer all questions. Everything was in working order. Also, if you are going to the amusement park, La Ronde, you can see it from the hotel.

Good price

We will recommend this hotel to other visitors. We are happy about this hotel, the front desk stuff was very helpful and friendly. Only one thing is that the cleaning people only put 1 shampoo and no conditioning for our room during our 3 days of staying even though our room was for 2 adult and 2 kids. ( We also left tips for them as well)

Great hotel

Wonderful hotel employees were bi langual and very very friendly. the beds were a little harder then i prefer but other then that I can’t complain. Will go back if I am ever in that area again

Not easy to find

The hotel can be easily seen, but not easy to get to. Make sure you have good directions. Nice beds, decent views, but gym equipment is dated. Not many restaurants nearby, but Metro station is right across the street for easy access into the city without the car.

We would probably never choose to stay anywhere else in Montreal. There is no need to!

My husband researched Montreal hotels 2 years ago and he felt the Sandman sounded ideal. When we got there it was even better than we had thought! So, we stayed this year, also. The subway is right outside the hotel, and parking is free and easy for guests. Everyone who works there is very, very nice. The reason I gave it a "4" overall instead of a "5" is because they do not have little refrigerators in every room. It was easy to compromise... ice and a good cooler.... but most places nowadays DO have a fridge in the room. Also, the restaurant is SO expensive and they do not even feature a minimal continental breakfast as part of the price. And, their little gift shop is not open often... I really needed something in there, but just hopped into a store in the subway instead. No big deal. However, everyone is very helpful, very nice and they make you feel welcome.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Not only is the hotel next to the subway, the station has a lot of stores and you can get everything you need from an inexpensive breakfast to souvenirs to certain services. (cleaners, etc.) The hotel Metro stop is the last on the line... Take it one stop and you are on the former Expo 67 grounds. 3 stops and you are in the heart of Montreal. Buy Metro tickets in packets of 6 to save money.

This is a nice, friendly hotel, well-situated to access the Montreal Metro, as well as get to via highway, with good parking set-up

Great location next to metro

It was my second stay at the Sandman Hotel and both times I was satisfied with this hotel.I really like the location next to the metro station and free parking. Rooms are big and quite nice, I would definitely stay there again when I go to Montreal.

Can’t wait to go back. It a three star hotel.

Only have to wait for the room at 3:00pm for check in. Front desk people were nice. And they are happy to help you where to go. Also change money in the hotel is better than outside, their ex chang rate are better.

Great Little Find

Hotels next to the Longueuil Metro Station. Getting around was easy. Free parking and the staff were super friendly.

Good value in Montreal

An east side convienent location, close to the major highways. Kind of noisy due to traffic. In room electronics need updating.

Great Location with Free Parking!

I am overly critical on hotels and I was very satisfied with the hotel’s accommodations. I will definitely stay there again.

Nothing fancy but merely the convenience of being literally 100 steps from the entrance of the Metro

Nothing fancy with the room. Since the Hotel is next to the highway and that the air conditioner/heater is a wall installed, there were a lot of outside noise. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom is kinda small. No microwave or minifridge. My wife and I only booked it because it was right next to the bus and metro station.

Take the metro to the Underground City. If you like shopping, you can spend a couple of days there.

Good location average quality

The hotel was located in a great location right next to the rail and bus station. This made access to all of the neat parts of the city easy. The hotel itself had average service and accomodations. It was a bit overpriced.

It was OK, but not a 4 star

The service was good, the staff very nice and helpful, and it was clean. But it looked rundown and not what I would call a 4 star hotel. I’d give it 3 stars. Definitely needs some updating.

You will definitely need a car to get there from the airport unless you know how to take the Metro. The cab fare is $65. The Metro stop is right outside the door of the hotel, so it is a good location for getting around town via Metro, which I highly recommend.

More than expected !!

I stayed in this hotel for a night. It was neat & clean. Staff was also courteous. One of the biggest advantage of this hotel is that it is very close to Metro station and bus stand. It has indoor pool, but we hadn’t used it. I will say for the price I had paid, it is the best hotel in the region.

Convenient location

We spent six days at this hotel. This hotel has a great location. The Montreal Metro (subway) is just across the street. The room is clean, and the people there are very friendly. Everyday, I asked them the direction about how to ride on subway. They explained everything in English patiently. Free parking is a plus, since drive in Montreal downtown is not easy for a tourist new to the town. Also parking is quite expensive, we would rather use the money for convenient subway system. I wish that the room could equip a small refrigerator.

We stayed in Hotel Sandman because of its great location near Montreal subway (walk distance). Buy a three day pass (about $17/each), then you can ride on subway and buses to any major Montreal attractions. We visited all major attractions in three days. It is easy to get on route 20 from hotel (just behind the hotel), and we drove to Quebec for a day trip. In the metro station, there are small grocery stores and restaurants, which are very convenient.

Convenient and clean room

The hotel was clean and convenient to the Metro which will take you anywhere in the city cheaply. Room was clean with no frills...which was okay. I received a good rate, however, when I extended a day....that cost me twice as much I paid through Expedia. Staff was mostly polite, until I challenged their room rate for an extra day(then they seem to be a bit rude). So, yes I would stay there again...but I would make sure to reserve in advance to receive a good deal.

Metro is excellent transportation and just a couple feet from hotel door. Loved that! Metro will take you just about anywhere in the city. Hotel rate through Expedia was great price. Simple and clean. Just what i expected for the cost.

very pleasant stay at the sandman

very clean and comfortable hotel close to metro stop with easy access to Montreal. Free parking saved us money. hotel staff very congenial and helpful. Downside is breakfast is not included and very expensive at the hotel restaurant, but we picked up breakfast items and ate in our room. (Small refrig. available on request for an additional fee if desired.) Also selected this hotel because it had a pool, but the pool was extremely tiny and crowded when only a few families were using it, so we did not end up using it. however ther is so much to do in Montreal, we did not miss using it. We enjoyed our stay at the Sandman and would highly recommend it, especially for travelers on a budget.
