Older, no frills. Clean. Bed very comfortable but blankets threadbard. Staff courteous and helpful. Good TV and channel selection. Decent place to stay for low price.

Two very different nights in the same hotel
I arrived at the Sandia Courtyard very late on a Friday night. I booked a non-smoking room and the sign in the lobby boasted a 100% non-smoking facility. When I arrived in my room I was completely disappointed and disgusted by the putrid, stale smoke smell, general uncleanliness and noise level of the room. I called the front desk and the clerk was very curtious and offered to move me to another room. Because it was very late and I was a woman traveling alone coupled with the three men lingering out in the hall just down from my room, I declined the offer and suffered through the night. I complained the next morning and another very curtious clerk offered me a new room and said hed call me as soon as one was clean and ready for me....which he did! On my second night I was "upgraded" to a premium room and couldnt have been happier. It was clean, quiet and very comfortable. The clerk that checked me in that evening was very curtious (3 for 3 on that front). So...it is difficult for me to give an accurate review of the hotel because I could have been staying at two very different locations. I feel I need to review it though because the level of service I received from the staff is worth complimenting and for the price my second night was especially nice.
Traveler's tip
If you decide to stay here and are not happy with your room, it pays to complain. They obviously have nice rooms available.
