Not really 4* but good price/quality
less than 10 min from Venice. One big issue is crossing the street from the hotel to catch the bus to venice. it is a high way in front and the bridge to get to the other side is far in the sens that you should cross a national parc. For those who are not in harry it should be OK. The hotel should find a way to help customers get to venice easier (shuttle to venice for example). It does not deserve to pay for a taxi because you will not find it and because the bus is frequent and costs 2.50 euros (one way).

Decent Hotel for a decent price.
The Russo is a little older hotel, but well maintained. Room was clean and rathere large. Staff was pleasant enough and helpful in suggesting and arranging for a van to take our party of 6 to the airport (which is relatively close). The breakfast buffet was very good. I felt like I received fair value for what I paid for the room.

Great Value
Although not located in the heart of Venice, the price was great for budget travelers. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful when we asked the best (and cheapest) way to get to the city. The bus line was a short walk (took less than 5 minutes) from the hotel, and it was easy to access both bus and water bus transits. I would recommend this hotel for those wanting to have a great place to "crash" but not necessarily for those wanting to pay the big bucks to be in the heart of the city.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Get the bus/water bus transit ticket so you can get where you want in the city. After an exhausting day in the city, we relaxed and in the beautiful park near the hotel. The hotel restaurant is a must for evening dining. The breakfast was a big plus! We had an early flight and were not able to have breakfast on our last morning, so they made us a little "box lunch" to take with us. Nice!
