This hotel is really nice and a bargain
I stayed at the Villa Grande Cassa in San Donato Val Di Comino for 6 nights the first week of November 2007. Located about hour and 30 minutes south of Rome by car. The rooms were very large and clean.. Excellant local Italian meals are served at this hotel at good prices. The staff speaks excellant English and can tell you what sights to see. The hotel is located in town ,,You can walk to the many restaurants in this hill town on the mountains.. The view from the room is fantastic.. Free parking. This hotel is great for anyone over 35 who wants to relax and enjoy the real Italy in the country away from the mad rush of tourists. Over all the best I have stayed at in Italy.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
There is ruins of Castles nearby. A typical Italian flea market is in San Donato sunday morning 2 blocks away. A Catholic Church is nearby & very beautiful inside. San Donato is a very beautiful town. Abruzzi National park is only several miles away and makes for a great scenic drive during the day. take a drive and enjoy Olive trees and the beautiful Italian country side.. The scenic mountain town of Atina is nearby and has a huge market on Monday mornings.
